Just saw the Tenacious D movie the pick of destiny and theres some quality van halen references:
Tenacious D meet with a crazy rock guru played by Ben Stiller who tells them of a magic guitar pick made from the devil's tooth called the Pick of Destiny. The pick has been behind the success of every mega-rock act in history, and its magical properties will be what Tenacious D needs to become the greatest band in the world, he tells them that some kid called Eddie caught the guitar pick at a concert.
Earlier on in the movie theres a photo of Edd on a guitar mag holding the pic of destiny
oh yeah and the original Franky is on the wall in the guitar gods room in the rock n roll museum the guys break into to get the pic of destiny
quality movie well worth a watchin
