the funny thing is..Mike was part of VH's best years... the stadiums, platinum albums, the insane crowds, David lee and Eddie in there prime, the Us festival.... He's been there , done that and it's never gonna be as good as that ever again..so he shouldnt have to kiss Eddies ass for some half baked nostalgia tour... he was part of the "best" van halen already... If EVH was a person with any kind of character he would put his differences aside , have Mike on stage just to do it right for the fans... unfortunatley EVH lives in a world where he is still a relavent guitar hero that can create good music....

Y'all got it all wrong...

First and foremost Ed hates the fans. More to the point, he hates the pressures of fandom for being elevated to "guitar god" or "rock star" status in his little world.

He wants to remain the shy little dutch fuck but won't shoulder the responsibility of living up to the expectations of millions of share-holders who've invested their hard earned money so he can live comfortably rich and act like a bitch.

Sad thing is... majority of the fans just want him to play guitar, make music and be that silly, fun loving guy we watched on stage the last 3 decades. Really nothing more is expected of him. A wave and shit-eating grin... occasional autograph and sound-bite on the whacky state of the Van Halen Universe. Not a lot to ask in a complex world today...

He hates Hagar and Michael if for anything else... they can remain the simpletons and regular cheesey guys they are. They don't get weighed down by the pressures of stardom. They don't have to hide in a bottle to work their trade. Like it or hate... those 2 can just do their thing and roll with it.

Like a true die-hard alcoholic Ed has turned the blame card their way, if for any reason it's easy, convenient and it takes the heavy weight of being himself off his weak shoulders and saddles it on someone else. I think it has a lot to do with Spam also, as much he talks down at Dave, MA has grown to think and feel it, after all MA is known to be Spammy’s puppet.

It would have been better for MA’s Career to reunite with Dave and Eddie to play in huge sold out arenas instead of staying with Spammy and play at casinos and County fairs.
