Ok,
It's been a while since I've done a long rant-o-rama in Main here cos I've been preachin' the lost cause over at The Links to the fucking SHEEP!!! Yes and after many years of being both tolerant and nice, I'll FINALLY call a fucking "spade" a SPADE!!! Of course my ramblings, documentation, experiences have all fallen upon many deaf ears and really, I mean REALLY to very stupid, tone-deaf and just plain musically ignorant people. DG, VV, FORD and a few others have been along for the most recent of tirades over there, so I think they'll bare with me along with my recent VH-Related adventure and can also attest to thatof which I've just soken? I know that I'll receive somewhat of the same backlash here but I do have a story to tell.
Over the last cupla weeks, a dear and loved relitive of mine became terminally ill and ultimitely passed. God Bless and that's neither here nor there. However, it does have a lot to do with my story.
Anyway, I'm in a part of really rural Utah whilst attending said services and what have you. Well and inevitably, the small talk arises after all of the painful and heavy duty shit. The majority of my family knows of what a DLR/VH fan that I am. So, it's mentioned to me SEVERAL times that "I hear David Lee Roth is going to tour next year?" To which I answer "HE'S NEVER STOPPED TOURING!!!" Then I was repeatedly bombarded with "No, Van Halen's Touring Again" meaning i.e. David Lee Roth... Seee, my kin ain't friggin' stupid!!! lol
Anyhoo, they went on to inform ME that Dave and Eddie are going to tour with Edward's teenage "prodigy" who's now in the band. I asked where they'd heard of such a thing cos I naturally assumed that only us die-hards knew of such info? Well and apparantly that's NOT the case!!! The news has circulated on many 'o entertainment tv shows, newspaper articles and whatever else may have you snippets?
I did mention to my father that the original bass player 'tis most likely not invited and he said, "Who cares about that?" Ok and there you have it, the BEYOND "casual fan" of whom now actually gives a shit or pays attention cos it has to do with "Eddie Van Halen" and DLR reuniting. Again and also, the Wolfie thing was a huge garnish of interest. Not to mention that the Wolfgang (VH son, musical prodigy)shit has created quite a buzz. Seriously, IF all this shit happens to pan out and be true, there's going to be a tremendous amount of both public interest and scrutiny, not to mention ATTENTION paid to this child during the chaos. That kid's involvement can and will (if true?) generate even MORE interest from J.Q. Public than what most of us VH internet people actually realize.
All that I can say is that I trust Dave and believe in his judgement when it concerns the legitimacy or ability of his musical cohorts. At the end of the day, if Wolfie sucked shit, I KNOW Dave wouldn't even consider traveling down said road.
Again, if this all pans out, I want new songs more than anything. However, a tour without Sammy Hagar's "Other Half" is NOT going to cause me to lose the least bit amount of sleep. Meaning, I will NOT resort to counting any sheep in order to fall asleep regarding Mullet Anthony's absence.
If truth be known and I've already repeatedly mentioned it, I'd much rather have three stellar chicks singin' his high pitched stuff anyway. I'm all for fresh starts, even if it's the basic repainting an old (yet classic) house. Dave and Edward are truly the ONLY factors that any "average" fan cares about. No, I'll take that back cos the "Teenage prodigal son" angle 'tis generating both quite a buzz and interest even at this point in time.
All I know is if Dave keeps up what he's doing at this point, Edward gets even MORE of his shit together and if that kid 'tis anything near he's cracked up to be,, It will happen.
As for "poor" Mikey... I've said it many 'o times. The guy 'tis by no means "poor" plus, he's super-glued to Hagar. The Sisters obviously have a problen with it. So, let Anthony sell his hot sauce and be forever professionally married to Hagar. Goodness knows that the man (nice or not) 'tis neither unwilling nor unable to come up with anything musically (of any interest anyway) to be either recorded or published.
