My girlfriend loves pop shit like Pink and No Doubt, who sell millions of records, yet she saw Pink last year at a club, and No Doubt played a theater. Sammy couldnt sell records or tickets for shit since leaving VH. I can admit Dave's career sales wise is in nowhere land(not that I care, I'm a diehard fan to the grave), but it's not like anyone else in VH would be succesful at this point either.
I agree BUT Sammy's 1st 2 CDs since leaving VH did sell over 300,000 copies each. Yes that's not even close to multiplatinum but not bad for a 57 year old guy who doesn't get any solo airplay.

As for Sammy selling out solo shows... I've only seen him here in Los Angeles and both times the show was sold out. I saw him twice solo at the Universal Amphitheatre but I'm not sure what the capacity is. 5,000 maybe??

In closing YES!! very hard for dinosaur rock acts to sell out shows.

Well said. I agree 100%. Furthermore, where is the Ed VH army? The Al VH army? The Mike army?

The passion, population, and presence of the group of people at this board proves that Dave is the #1 VH member with fans.

The fact that the average rock fan would not recognize any VHagar songs removes all doubt.

People always go for the singer...
          Everyone knows that.
          That's it!!!

You admit that EVH must be taken outta the mix when deciding to see Van Hagar on this tour.

It is indeed about the singers. Always has been. Always will.

No I did not say Eddie needs to be taken out of the mix.
This thread is about guitarists touring solo and playing large arenas.
