pro Roth /VH duscussion on Stern this morning

Vh and the RRHOF was brought up this morning and Fred, Robin , and Artie all said that if VH called it quits in 1985 they would still be worthy of the Rock and Roll Halll of Fame... Artie said something to the effect of if they started as a new band in 1985 with Hagar there is no way they would be there... Stern said they were popular with Sammy though...only to have Robin point out that Sammy walked into a hugely popular band that was built on the Dave years...:D

Yes, that is something no hagar fan would admit. Van Halen were on top when Dave left.

Hagar basically admitted this recently when interviewed about the RRHOF. He still doesn't deserve the honor IMO.

Not true at all. Only about .0001% of the Van Halen fan community, even those that like Van Hagar, would claim that anything Van Hagar did was BETTER than Classic Van Halen. And most of those that would are usually very late 20-somethings to early 30-somethings that heard Van Hagar first and have some gay sentimental attachment to them...

Without a doubt. Anyone who even tried to make a case that Van Halen weren't already hugely successful by the time Roth bailed, and only were AFTER Hagar joined, is just clearly not in command of the facts.
