I don't think a double record is in the CVH spirit.

Sure we all want a ton of material, but short, sharp and killer was their way of playing, I think a double record would be too bloated....

For what it's worth

We did have Dave say he had 5 or 6 songs with VH that were bomb-proof.
Ed's said he has hundreds of tunes he hasn't released.

You gotta figure they would have some phenomenal old school sounding songs that would be home runs with Dave's involvement.

One plus out of the Wolfie on bass scenario is that if Ed is inspired and happy about his playing again, new music will happen automatically.
