    Perspective on Wolfgang

I'm as interested as anyone else on what Wolfgang will bring to the VH sound.

We've all heard the great things about him from Ed and so on.

And IMO Dave wouldn't be doing this tour if he didn't think Wolf had the necessary chops to play a whole show.

Which brings me to the whole Wolfie thing:

I've read some humourous posts at the beginning about his age and so on. People talking how Dave can't even say 'fuck' on stage anymore, make comments towards the ladies in the front row and so on.

Then I think back to Wolfgang again -- this kid is going to be 16 next month. Do you honestly think he hasn't heard or even uttered the words 'fuck', 'shit', 'pussy' 'dick', etc.??? Think back to when you were 16.

Also, I've read some rediculous posts on how some are worried about how Wolf will handle all the attention, press, or even playing on stage for 1-2 hours.

Granted, they are valid concerns, but think about it -- this kid was BORN into a celebrity family. He hasn't grown up in a NORMAL family like the rest of us.

His mom is (was?) the queen of the TV mini-series and of course the star of a once hit sitcom.

And his dad is a famous guitar player who revoluntionized how it should be played -- not to mention his band selling multi-million records along the way. And of course his recent association with the Porn industry.

Wolfie is most likely a normal kid -- but I think he's been primed for this tour since the beginning.

He'll have to get used to playing in front of crowds, no doubt, but even the great MA still says that he gets nervous upon hitting the stage--after all these years!! Hence, taking a shot of Jack to help shake off the nerves.

To end this off -- we haven't heard a single note or even seen a new pic of Wolfdude TODAY -- we know NOTHING.

Until we do, its all pent up speculation.

Wolfgang is getting a lot of shit thrown his way around here because many of us wanna see all four members of the CVH lineup, but I have to agree that if Wolfgang just couldn't hack it, Dave would've said so.

No matter how bad Dave wants this tour, he doesn't want to go out and be part of a reunion that is looked at as a laughingstock.

        Your ramblings are insane...

I don't waste my time thinking about Wolfie, just like i'm not gonna waste my money on this "reunion"...

          That's bull too...

Dave's so happy to be in "Van Halen" that he's probably willing to overlook just about anything...

          Don't get me wrong...

I know I post alot of negative crap regarding this "reunion"...

But i'd really like it to be awesome...

          You know...

Dave come out singing and screaming his ass off and making us grin from ear to ear...

Edward dropping our jaws with insane, mind blowing skill, riffs and showmanship...

Alex tearing it up with unequaled ferocity...

And Wolfgang making out eyes pop out of our skulls just like his daddy did back in the day, even to the point we all say Michael who ??

Then I come back to reality...

          C'mon people...

            Exactly.

              All evidence to the contrary.......

Just leads to more rules laid down by spED for Dave.

Thou shalt not swig JD near Wolfie, etc.....

I like Dave alot, but if it turns out he's actually condoning this farce, then I will be dissappointed.

I say give the kid a chance to prove himself. The way I look at it is if this kid has a fraction of his dad's musical talent/ability/genius, he's going to be a good one! Besides, take away Mike's background vocals and what do you have left? A mediocre bassist that sells hot sauce, not to mention licks Sammy's balls and keeps his knob well polished!

Yeah, he deserves a chance...in a band with other kids his own age.

Ideal scenario (at least for those of us who want a CVH reunion) would be Wolfie getting a bad case of stage fright before the first show and Daddy getting a clue that this is just too damn much to expect of a kid. Sure, he's been onstage before, but he's never had to face this kind of pressure.

There's always the chance that Roth wants it so bad he's willing to put the blinders on, but I'm gonna remain positive about it.

If they crash and burn, maybe they can at least make it memorable, but none of our instincts about this are gonna matter until the first downloads from the first gig are posted anyway. THEN we'll have something tangible to go on.

I was back and forth about the whole thing myself, and at one point decided I didn't want anything to so with it, called it a farce, etc...

But I wanna see 'em. I'm compromising, but if it's just an average show, I'll say so. If it turns out to be nothing special, I'll say so flat-out in this forum.

It still feels wrong the way it has come about, but if this lineup DOES pulloff a hat trick and comes out to play some smoking gigs, I'll be kicking myself for not going.

Vinnie...The Fleece The Sheep tour was Eddie's way of giving Wolfgang his stage legs.

                              <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/60Aafhz0BGM"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/60Aafhz0BGM" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

No night clubs or this kid, and if you think that he wasn't exposed to cussing, booze and titties then its some delusional world you must live in. He was brought out and played to crowds and they cheered. Eddie even says at the end, "This is the future, right here". This coming from the Guitar God himself. I understand that he's his father, but if he sucked do you think he'd bring him out on stage with him? Do you think that Dave(no matter how desperate some of you think he is)would put his name on the marquee if the kid couldn't play? Do you really believe that he's going to "lipsync" on bass?

Vinnie, your post was dead on. The kid isn't like the rest of us. He was privilaged to share the same DNA as a Guitar God and a MILF. That's gotta give him more of an advantage than say Jack Osbourne. If Dave and Eddie are playing...I'm there. Just like Terry said, if i sucks, I'll say it here in this forum. Until I see them on the web or live I can't cast anything out there about Van Halen with Wolfie on bass. Yeah, it sucks that bassplayer isn't there, but he made his bed. For those that supported Van Hagar and Ga y Halen, I feel sorry for you. You bought into a lie that it was better than CVH, you either didn't know any better because you never saw Van Halen with Dave, or you drank the Cabo Wabo. Hopefully you get to hear why some of us supported Dave in anything he did over the years and see the light.

I can't wait to see the show, and I want to see more than one night of it...Who's up for a Lost Weekend Van Halen Road Trip?
