He is an entertaining interview because he actually believes the things he says. He couldn't care less who plays bass, in his shiny head, it's only about him. A new album? Doubtful. What is curious to me is the relative lack of buzz about the upcoming tour, outside of sites like this. Good Ol' Dave, The Posemaster General.

it was the usual, “How’s the wife, how’s the kids, let’s play.”
What wife? There are no wives. Did Wolfgang get married?
And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, “What ails you, Hagar? Genesis 21:17

One thing is for sure, Ed and Dave had an onstage chemistry that just kicked ass and Van Hagar could not hold a candle to it. Lets hope 07 brings back that old chemistry and flushes the Van Hagar years right down the toilet.

I saw Dave last summer on his solo tour and I thought his voice was fine. But I did notice that there were no flying splits off the drum riser. A few good kicks but that was all. I know he's in his fifties but I'd really miss that in a VH show. Let's hope he's stretching right now...

I think its good for Dave to NOT do or attempt the split-legged leap off the drum riser.

And I hope he doesn't try it for the VH tour -- all that does is give more fuel for the media to make fun of a "50-something year old doing splits."

I thimk a lot of people are gonna be surprised by DAVE on this tour...

I think they're gonna see THE TOASTMASTER GENERAL...back in his element....and PISSED OFF from the years of smartasses taking cheap shots at him.....

I think DAVE is gonna be in TOP MOTHERFUCKING FORM.....

He's gonna put the LEGEND out there...for all the doubters & Kiddies to see.......

I have a feeling....maybe right...maybe wrong...we're gonna get something closer to the 1981 DAVID LEE ROTH...than the 1984 DAVID LEE ROTH......

I agree -- maybe not so much in the same physical form (since with age, that's not possible), but yeah, certainly in attitude and showmanship.

I mean, Dave will be back in arenas and not playing casinos or amusement parks!

I think that if people are hoping that the Dave of today is going to be at all similar to the Dave of 1981 and 1984, then they are setting themselves up for disappointment from the start. Same thing goes for Ed. This upcoming tour may be good but the CVH versions of Dave and Ed are long gone.
