Rumor has it Dave told a friend after the first rehearsal "This ain't gonna happen..." We've all been talking about it here at Q (Bob even wrote about it on his blog). I'll tell you my thoughts tomorrow - what do YOU think?

Van Halen...Another Misstep!

As December turned to January, I was seriously worried that 2007 would be a concert wasteland of a year. There was NO action! And then came the second week of January, when Roger Waters told us he was touring, and a Rush tour was confirmed. Sting was reacting kindly to reuniting the Police. The same was coming from Phil Collins; that Peter wasn't going to do it, but the three of them would! And the Van Halen rehearsals with Dave were going well.

WERE is the operative word! David Lee Roth, who certainly can be a pain in the ass, really had his ego in check. On the other hand, Eddie, who's become growingly unstable in the last decade, was telling the press that Van Halen was happy to be back together, and that it really didn't matter who the singer was. If there is a conclusion to jump to regarding the Tuesday cancellation of their Reunion Tour plans, Eddie has behaved badly and made another management misstep.

It's us...the fans...that lose out. Eddie, Alex and Dave all still have their chops, but we won't get to see them at Jones Beach and PNC because Eddie can't get his head together.
