they finally hook line me and I said I wouldnt jump unless mikey was there. but I got so excited I did. I said I would go, I love Dave!!!!

after this fucking BS from the Halens I am done with any reunion unless its a full blown original line up. I love dave but unlike him....I have had enough.


god love dave but I just dont see how he puts up with it. he should have stuck to his guns on only an original line up or let ed sink with his own plans.


good luck to Dave but I for one am done with VH and anything they are doing. if I see the original lineup come together I am onboard. other than that, I just dont care now.


not to mention the shitty announcement and the way they handled the PR for this so called reunion. its been a joke from the start.

Hey bru87tr yeah I completely empathize with you. I've been a fan since their inception and dug on both incarnations (sorry DLR fans). My fave line up is w/Dave but liked many of the Hagar jams too. I, like you, have had my blood pressure lifted on one too many occasions with regard to a DLR led reunion. This same sunken feeling has become all too familiar and I think that EVH is really immune to that and that is where the real problem lies.

Granted issues of alcoholism or life threatening illnesses (like cancer) certainly find me empathizing with EVH. I was genuinely touched reading about how Wolfgang was the prime force in reuniting DLR with EVH. I was equally troubled to hear of Ed's downward spiral to become this porn fed alcoholic whose paranoia has turned him into a sort of rock-n-roll Howard Hughes. Doesn't sound too promising does it.

And you and I know that if and when Ed sobers up he'll likely want to can DLR in favor of a new rock-n-roll muse like Clay Aiken.

Its a bit like the Boy Who Cried wolfy isn't it? We, the fans, have sat through two decades of failed reunion attempts having to look to unofficial fan sites for solace and reassurance. Now, there may be a somewhat sensible reason for why things have been postponed and yet I find myself saying "now what...so what?". If EVH and Alex cared at all about the fans they'd get off their reclusive asses and answers some cold hard questions. That'll never happen.

Judging from the look on EVH's face in that newest promo shot I'd say there are some serious issues.

I think I'll look to DLR solo tours from here on out and an occasional Mikey and Sam show. So yeah I'm with ya on this one.
