Like I have stated earlier in another thread, for me, as long as both Eddie and Dave are totally in it together (and Alex is obviously always there) performing and recording an all-new CVH album, I ain't gonna whinge one bit. And I'm gonna make another confession right away: As much as EVH is my greatest guitar hero of all time, Dave has always been my absolute favourite CVH member till this very moment. It's just that I'm gonna sort of miss Mike's presence and the memories of the unrivalled music the magnificent 'original quartet' that included him, gave us all. It's hard to deny or downplay, at the very least, the symbolic value of Mikey returning to make this an authentic CVH 'reunion'. However, this isn't the first time that a sickening thought has crossed my mind about what a possible, eventual return of Mikey might involve. As RA Gladiator pointed out earlier, Mike seems permanently joined at the hip with Sammy. I don't wanna rehash all the feuding and trash-talking that has occurred between the two camps since Sammy was fired and Mike decided to make a career out of being Sammy's loyal, devoted sidekick. But as a liftetime DLR fan and CVH devotee, I'd desperately wanna see Hagar's abominable, sordid legacy with my beloved VH be banished from our memories permanently. I wouldn't want Mike anywhere remotely near the VH reunion camp, if his return means his sugar-daddy Sammy also gets another sniff at the bone he's chewed and fed on for a dozen years. So, no, I don't want Mikey back at all if that helps freeze out Sammy's chances of ever sneaking back into the band.
I'm just all mixed up about Wolfie's true abilities and if he really can cut the mustard, musically speaking, with the band. I hate to think that he might just be a precocious, eager beaver teen who is being calculatedly over-rated by his guitar-god daddy. But if Dave is being absolutely honest about his opinion about WVH, then I'm gonna take him at his word and begin to believe that Wolfie has indeed got what it takes to make this 'reunion' a runaway success.
Music is like girlfriends to me; I'm constantly amazed at the choices other dudes make----DLR
