I think Unchained would be the one off of FW.

And no Dave will not get up on stage and sing with VR.

Dave doesn't sing on ANYONE'S stage but his own.

Now Sam might go up there and make a fool of himself, yes.

Fuck any performance, I'd love to see Slash whack Eddie upside his toothless head with his Les Paul. THAT would be worth the price of admission.

There are few guitarists who could really serve up some CVH, and don't say Brian Young...

Yngwie is really the only one I would want to hear do it, and i'm not just saying that because i'm an Yngwie fan...

Yngwie is a CVH fan, check out his version of Light Up The Sky with Billy Sheehan...

Too bad Dimebag is dead, he could do it...

        Hell, maybe even Zakk...

But not Splash...he's a slowhand (no, I don't mean clapton, just slow) Aerosmith rip-off type player...

And Splash has no flair...a quality necessary for Van Halen...

How can you say that Slash is an Aerosmith rip-off? I understand that both Joe Perry and Slash are Rock N Roll guitarists with a blues influence, however, listen to any Slash solo/riff, then compare it to one of Joe Perry's.... They are different in some many ways.

Not so sure about Dimebag, even though he is dead, he is more of a straight up Metal guitarist.... his style of music is much different from VH... although, considering the fact that Dimebag absolutly loved Eddie Van Halen's work, I bet he could pull it off.

I personally hate Yngwie. He has too big of an ego. I would never want to see him play a CVH song. He is one hell of a guitar player though.

Too say that Slash ain't all that on guitar is a statement that makes absolutly no sense. I'd like to see you pick up a guitar and play somthing that sounds only half as good as Slash.

I'll bet you $100,000,000,000,000 that I can play ANY CVH better than Splash...

              Taken from Snakepit.org...

SLASH's early musical influences were Led Zep, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith,Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Neil Young. He credits the Aerosmith album ROCKS with changing his life. Getting to play with the musical idols of his life means a lot to him. Standing on a stage in Paris with Jeff Beck and Joe Perry was overwhelming.

Everything Slash ever played or wrote sounds exactly like something taken from Aerosmith ROCKS...

That's not necessarily a bad thing, but if you can't hear that, you can't hear...

                I agree.

Slash is a so-so player with some cool riffs and solos -- but nothing that wasn't done by some others prior to him.

In other words, he aint anything special.

BTW, Joe Perry is one of the WORST guitarists of ALL time. No feel, no flash, BORING-ASS guitar playing!

Not only can you not be in two bands, but you can't be using your fame from being a member of VH to sell stuff. You know, things like tequila, or hot sauce, or musical instuments and gear. Guitars, amps, effect pedals etc etc etc......Wait a minute! Ed is breaking the rules! He should be fired!

VR doing classic VH is a disappointment.

VH should play VH. (with MA, just for this event)
the way it should be played, like they were shot out of a cannon.

Whatever they do, since it will be one of the hits, will be a bummer.

If they did something bizarre like Simple Rhyme and drove it home, THEN it would be interesting.
But Ain't Talkin bout Love from VR would be disappointing. (a good tune, they could just pick a better one)

I think Slash could do a good job on something like House of Pain.
(there I go with the left field songs again) but never pull off the lead break the way it needs to be.
The pinch harmonics with the bar bends are brilliant.

I think Perry was great at having a nasty style with attitude.
his slide work was cool on the early albums.

bringing up Journey was no good.

Marching Out's Don't Let it End is a classic. Like Simple Rhyme has a quiet section, then out of nowhere the electrics come in and kick your ass.

Yeay, why isn't it Aerosmith or Sabbath, or Ozzy...

                              Or even Ted Nugent...

                              Somebody with some credibility...
