It has been confirmed that Fatgar and the former bass player will attend and The Diamond One will not. It is pretty sickening that the Gaygar years will be represented at the HOF and the classic years will not. The least we can hope for is that VR will play DLR era tunes and snub the pop candy Hagar era songs. I really can't see Slash playing Why Can't This Be Love.

He could -- but remember even without Ed, Dave is not ALLOWED to play.

That's what is pissing him off -- not so much that Van HALEN will not perform because Dave knows Ed needs to get healthy first.

Dave was willing to sing a song with anyone backing him.

But the Hall already tapped Velvet Revolver to play and refused Dave.

When it was announced VR would be playing I couldn't even picture Dave sitting there watching that, that's not him. If he can't be in the spotlight he's not interested, so I'm not surprised. Can't blame him, this SHOULD be his time in the spotlight. I'm hoping by Dave going public about being turned down the HOF people will try to save face and reconsider and invite Dave to sing. He has a right to be on the stage if he wants to and all the fans know it.

I wonder if VH told the hall right away that Ed wouldn't be there, but the rest of CVH wanted to play together, if they would have allowed it. I'm sure some decent guitarists would be lined up to jump in for this event to play as a tribute to Ed. And Sam could sit and watch. :D

Of course Ed would fire them all! :D

I'm pretty sure it was all of the uncertainity going on within the band that caused the RRHOF to get VR and to be so strict about not allowing Dave up there. They probably feel it is too risky to book anyone in VH to perform because you never know who might back out at the last minute.

Sucks to have that kind of stigma.
