    What would you Rather?

Ok, i know alot of peeps here are pissed, let down, excited and a whole lot more about the recent happenings of VH, i am all of the above myself. But if the reason behind the delayed tour, is because Ed, has seen the light, is realizing that his shit is not squared away, and needs help, that is a positive in my book.

I would much rather have them delay the tour, and have a sober ed, playing like we all know how he should play, then have a noodling ed, not knowing which song the others are playing, and making a ass out of himself.

The guy must have finally took a long hard look at the situation, and by Dave being back in, realized, that his shit is just out of whack, his health is on the line, and for him to bring back true classic VH music and sound, needed to be at 100%, in every aspect. Hope the guy gets what he needs, so we can all once again enjoy the great music, that VH has given us, and hopefully will give us.

You couldnt be further from the truth.
The reason that the tour has been scrapped, and EVH wont go to the RRHOF ceremonies is because he is at the point of no return.

Stick a fork in him; he's done.

The only light Eddie is going to see is the one at the end of the tunnel when he flatlines within the next 24 months.

      Okay. I'll bite.

Yeah, it does seem positive, if that's the case.

We don't want a drunken ass Ed fucking up legendary solos and riffs on a tour (see 2004 Van Cheezeball tour).

Dave knows this as does Alice.

So, the best thing is to get healthy, sober up and play.

        Wishful thinking I'm afraid...

Ed could give two shits about getting sober or being 100%.

Well if that's the case, great and I agree but if they ARE gonna do it this year, they better hurry. With The Police and now Genesis doing reunion tours, there won't be a lot of money left to grab. People will be pretty broke by the time VH's tix go on sale. Not to assume someone would like all three bands but there are some people that do. I'm not one of 'em but there are some I'm sure. Especially some of the 'lil bastards out there that were too young to catch any of these bands before.

Regardless of the tour happening, I definitely think it'll be beyond fucked up if Ed/Al don't show up Monday night.

I'm a Ledhed so my pathetic ass is still waiting for a Zep reunion in addition to CVH. LOL

I say BULLSHIT!! They should not announced the tour if none of them were ready. They are just finding out now that Ed can't cut it?

Janie either jumped too prematurely with her amateur knowledge of PR for a legendary band, or Ed thought he had himself under control and gave her the A-OKAY to go public??? we can only speculate...

I say, Delay the Tour as long as it takes Ed to get himself together and then make an announcement.

We've waited this long.....what's the difference?

                No fucking doubt.

Next time, don't bother with the photoshoots and announcements until the deal is sealed.

                Fuckin' idjits!

Dave comes out looking more and more foolish with every instance of wasting time trying to fruitlessly reunite with these drunken, neck-braced, hot-sauce selling assholes.

I have NO PROBLEM with no touring this summer.

Bottom line is this - what we've gained is:

                    01. Time for Ed to sober up and get back to 100%, which is where he fucking NEEDS to be for a DLR reunion; and

                    02. Time for Ed, Alex, David and HOPEFULLY Mike to work out any and all of their differences, so that we can get a REAL Classic Van Halen tour.

Both of those are very good things, in so far as I'm concerned.

I'm not so sure it's Ed's doing, though...Ed getting clean is one thing, sure, but it really sounds as if it's the HoF themselves that won't let David perform...unless I'm missing something...

Of course, without Ed and Al there, don't know who Dave would perform with...

But rest assured, I'm as pissed as you are...just trying to be optimistic, because realistically...David's around with them, so we ARE somewhat close...closer than we've been since 2000, anyway...

I have this scenario in my head that shows me the HoF folks sitting around thinking "You know...Van Halen's a band that's a loose cannon and has a BAD track record of falling apart...maybe we shouldn't let them perform, what if Hagar and Roth go at it, or Roth and Edward do? Fuck it, just let Velvet Revolver play their stuff, it'll be better for ratings, anyway."

There is a precedent for it, I believe - didn't Metallica perform Sabbath's material when Sabbath was inducted? The Sabs just watched Metallica's performance from their seats...

I don't know, maybe I'm just talking out of my ass here, but I smell a corporate RNRHOF marketing thingie in the mix somewheres...
