The average young guitarist seems to totally skip the late 70's-80's anyway.

I have never dictated or shoved any music down my kid's throat. He's free to listen to whomever he chooses to.

The average young guitarist....depends on what they're listening to. Not every young kid is listening to stupid ass alternative players. I have a good friend who teaches guitar, and all of those kids that come in to get lessons want to know how to play Eruption, and the like. Perhaps the EVH snub was the case with your age group, but not as much with the younger kids now.

The time for wanting to be like Eddie went out 20 plus years ago.

I got a nephew and niece that are in high school. Van Halen sure isn't a highly thought of band there from what kids people me.

When I was in school.... People listened to Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Led, Cream and other bands mostly.

Very few people cared about VH. And the band can blame it on themselves.

Do you really think this tour was going to be hot ticket? You think most people even give a d@mn? nope.

VH dug their own grave.

Don't believe that to be true. The kind of music Van Halen played is looked down on howdays and has been for years.

VH is often thrown in with the hairbands even.
