Me Wise Magic v.s. It's About Time

After 6 long years, this is what Van Hagar cough's up?? At least Me Wise Magic has a groove to it. It's About Time is a frenetic mess. This song is all over the place. Way to much going on. It gave me a headache. The latter tune's recorded with Roth are far superior to this pathetic attempt to make Mr. Hagar sound like a rocker. Van Hagar, go back to writing ballads, and when your ready to kick ass, give Mr. Roth a call.

They are both sub par.

Me Wise Magic was a tune written for Sammy, and it was way out of Dave's range. He gave it an honest effort, but he's totally straining through the whole tune. Me Wise did have a much better riff for the verse, but the chorus wasn't so hot.

The new tune is the exact opposite: it's more like it was written for Dave, then given to Sammy. Sammy even tries to end his verse with that little yelp Dave used to do. Again, on this tune the chorus is garbage arena rock.

But the most annoying thing is Eddie jamming in these odd riffs under the chorus (My Time). It's like he's trying to write complex rhythm parts, but he doesn't have the skill to make them sound good.

To be honest I listened to that horrific shit several times yesterday so I could really rag on it............I really can't remember much about it, other than Spam repeats "It's ABout Time" 8 million times......

Fuck yeah it is! It's a tongue in cheek song, and Dave's personality makes that one a winner, even though not a rock tune. One of VH's worst, but a masterpiece compared to "It's (musical) Abortion Time". Shit "No Big Ting" is much easier on the ears.........
