Why are Dave and Ed so different?
The whole band use alcohol and drugs when together, for some people including myself, it effects people differently. The band probably will not get together indefefinately. Dave seems to has his stuff together, being enthusastic, outgoing, and confident about himself. He does have ego. Ed on the other hand has ego, but has alcoholism is out of control and he'll probably die soon if he does not stop drinking. He ruined the band because of his alcoholism, paranoria, control issues and etc. They will never reunite old VH with a major label, Warner Brothers.
I give Sammy credit for wanting old VH to reunite.
Alex has been non existant which has been disapointing. He's an awsome drummer, even with a neck brace, but really probably retired.
No one really knows the inside on this forum about the break up in 1985, 1996, or 2001, just rumors. Oh, Dave fucked one of Alex's wifes. Dave had an ego problem, ed had an was drinking too much and had to take time off, and dave wanted to continue making music and touring in 1985.t's all bull shit.

Three time witness to the comeback of the MIGHTY VAN HALEN. And then they faded back into obscurity.
