Ed's really got nothing else to do at this point BUT take a trip down memory lane.

Nobody's really interested in hearing anything along the lines of a new direction from Van Halen, and Ed's really got nothing new to say musically with the new Hagar track that he hasn't already said before, and better.

I dug the BBQ and the DLR band CD (Diamond Dave a little less), but Dave's in danger of becoming not much use for anything other than a Van Halen reunion himself if he keeps neglecting his solo material live. The past couple of years have seen Dave belaboring the point he was making with his Van Halen tribute band shows.

It's a fair point to raise in response to Ed being a nostalgia act by pointing out the redundancy and overfocus on the classic Halen tunes of Dave's setlist as of late.

ed is in serious trouble...he doesn't want to be a nostalgia-act but his effort to do something new is just embarrissing...this dark metallica-esque tune he tries in the beginning of "IAT" is just not his "thing"...it's a terrain he can't make his way through...ed is too much focussed on himself and not really open to other music (except famous tuba solos) and spam is even more far away from that stuff....so the only thing he could go back to in songwriting he is "save" in would be the cheesy hagar stuff...but that would mean letting sammy have influence in the songwriting...and for sure this would sound nostalgia, too like the late 80'ies and 90'ies stuff...he needs a good help in songwriting not to be nostalgia...but what kind of innovative shit should come from a 60 year old tequilla salesman who is only ripping off led zep tunes and writes the shitties lyrics in the history of rock...

        Just a thought:

I think the exceptional quality of the music was what brought the confidence that inspired DAVE to "quarterback" VH the way it did.

For all the sammy fans, for all the EVH fans:

I think what we need is the 4 elements that made it so special.

        All elements were essential.

        They need each other,

        all of them.

        catch my drift?

As far as defining a nostalgia act, I am again referring to Ed's excuse for not hooking up with Dave again.

but you (and so many others) need to credit DAVE. He's the only one promoting it.

He's the only 1 offering the opportunity to experience it live.

I don't care if he ever enters a studio with the sista's again, what they did for us on the first 6 albums will shine on forever and smoke Spermmy's ass into eternity.
Your damn right Spam will be doing more old stuff, he has no fucking choice since interest in Van Hagar is at an all time low.

You fucking Spam lovers are high on the hog, eh?
So tell me why you are here trying to instigate a war with us Roth-Hards?
Whats the point? Is it that you truthfully know what Dave meant and still means to the Van Halen Legacy?
or are you just trying to hide the fact that deep down inside you, in places you don't talk about, that Spam will never be as good in VH as Dave was?
I do believe you are not only sheep, but lost sheep at that.
Go BAAAAAAAAAA your way to a site that actually gives a FLYING FUCK what you think and leave reality to the realistic.
