It's amazing that you can train these computer bots to have more sense than morons like that deuchebag Eddiefan...

    but that's not surprising either...

gslinger... Where is this Fender contract info coming from? Seems a bit odd that Fender would be shopping around an endorsement deal while there's talk of them going up for sale in the $500 million range...

Also curious on this unmarked Strat being played on tour... all reports so far are the Cherry Sunburst flat-top custom wolfgang with the fernandez sustainer in the neck position and the 5150 Kramer being played on Up For Breakfast sporting an unlabeled neck with a Fender style headstock??

I can see your point on Peavey putting up the EVH poster promotion to spark sales. Also find it interesting that they are using an old photo of Ed rather than something current. Wouldn't take more than an hour of Ed's time to do a simple photo shoot w/ a WG in his hands...

this is all true...I have a friend that works for Peavey and he told me it's common knowledge that when EVH's contract is up Peavey will not renew it...In his words Peavey views Eddie as " An Irrelevant Liability, and a prima donna"...they own all the technology to the 5150 amp so that will continued to be produced under a new name....This is not bullshit... just wait and see.

I don't exactly think a current pic would encourage wallets to be opened in record numbers myself...

More fuel as to why this tour was intended to bomb-bad blood between Ed and Peavey. Peavy is treating Ed liked a washed up has been nobody, CCC is treating him the same. He has no reason to act like anything better than that.

Now, Fender on the other hand. Why would they want to sign a deal with a guy who has done nothing of real value for years-Being a rock icon only goes so far. Unless of course there was some selling point we don't know about. Edward is a guitar legend, but why would Fender want Peavy's seconds-unless they have faith in a new sound they want associated with their name; or some reason to believe that Ed still has something to offer?

Maybe Fender knows Ed is going to die shortly and the value of the guitars will go up after his death. I'm not trying to be a smart ass here - I'm serious!

AS always I have to agre with you GS. That thought has been in the back of my mind for some time now. I sincerely hope it is not true.
But what if Eddie and the boys do know he is about to be called
to the great arena in the sky, to join Jimi and the others?

Perhaps that explains all of the (cheesie) emotional antics?

Ya know I have beat on Eddie more than anyone on this Board, for damn good reason. That said Ims, unequivocally YES do not miss seeing Eddie in August if this issue is personal to you.

I'll post my exact thoughts and reasons, on this matter, this evening when I have more time.

Greatly appreciate the update guy! Thank you very much. That is so interesting, this change of position the last 30 days. I'm sure it wouldn't have anything to do with this VH Tour struggling so bad, paid attendance #'s off 43% for the first 3 shows, and CCC/WMG being VERY powerful people in the music industry.

I'll PM you with my 1-800 fax #. Would like to get a copy of the VH info you have, if appropriate...gs

Even if Peavey was dumping der Dutchman after this tour this is still business. Peavey would be noopid not to try to cash in as much as possible from this tour and - duh - sell guitars. So I'll wait and see but I wouldn't be suprised to see Peavey still try to make as much as they can from Edward until they dump him after the tour.

You bet it's business, Peavey's business and reputation! Why do you think Hartley Peavey has not said a word about this Tour until suddenly now AFTER it has started, and CCC/WMG is getting killed on lack of ticket sales while Eddie drowns himself on stage with booze, playing like a hack for 3/4 of the show. CCC/WMG are huge music industry controlling companies. They can make Peavey's life miserable. It's fantastic there is a Peavey dealer that has jumped in here that can put more light on this deal! However, I know my information is solid.
