Desperation move by Dave??

I posted this in the Underground by accident and it wasn't moved.



The tour probably won't ever happen now. But I can't help but feel that this was a last ditch effort by Dave. He certainly is no longer an equal (just ask Mike) At least with the original line up it was 2 Van Halens and Dave & Mike. Now it's 3 Van Halen's and Dave. Plus, Ed's under qualified girlfriend is their publicist/spokesperson/Ed's babysitter. Dave used to take shots at Val, but she never had anything to do with the band's affairs. He always said it would be the original four or nothing. That's one reason given by Dave as to why he never asked Mike to jam on the Sam & Dave tour. I just think that this whole situation was doomed from the get go and never meant to be.

I doubt it's a last-ditch effort by Dave to reunite Van Halen, although it may well have been a desperation move.

Hell, after his brief tenure on talk radio, Van Strummin generating not a lot of sales and another summer of playing the same one to five thousand seater venues he's been doing for the last couple of years, who can blame the guy?

Far as Van Halen goes, Dave continues to be willing to try and put it back together. Am not sure if that is a sign of patience, persistence, stubborness or just foolish denial on his part, because it just doesn't seem to be in the cards that it's ever gonna happen.

Shame, too. Would be nice to see them all go out on top.

It's all that any of them have left to do anymore. Bottom line. Eddie solo? New Van Halen singer? Van Hagar 3.0? None of that will go anywhere.

All other options have been exhausted.

There's a crossroads right behind them - road split two ways: West Classic Van Halen Avenue or East Buh-Bye Lane.
