I'm thinking that it was some other sinister conspiracy...
Like maybe Ed had a major problem with booze and/or drugs and needed to get his act together before he made his son a teenage pallbearer.

Well everyone thought roth was being prissy for not going to the HOF but IMO Edward really was the one. I don't buy that rehab BS, go to rehab before or after the ceremony there is no need to go during it. He did it to make Roth go up there w/ Hagar or force him to not go at all.

Ed was in sad shape, just look at the NAMM video, Guitar World CD ROM, or the Rolling Stone pic with Roth. Ed looked like he was on his final days (or daze). Someone, Fender, Roth, or VH Mgmt (or all 3) told Ed he neded some help. Judging by the photos taken at the NASCAR event, Ed has made a huge recovery.
I think Roth had a big influence on Ed going to rehab and is keeping quiet until ED is ready to start new recordings and or hitting the road for a tour. It will probably take Ed several months to be ready for a tour. But a new CD might be in the near future.
As someone mentioned above, Ed can't be taken seriously if he choses a new singer. The only other option for Ed would be to do a solo project or hit the G3 tour with Via and Satch.Anything left in that bottle?Comment
