      ???

I'm sure you meant to write "You must be related to Cherone"

Cherone was gay, obviously you failed to observe the large amount of fine specimens of the female variety wishing me well on my MySpace site.

But hey, you don't know the difference between You've and you.

I would take Van Halen's version of "Dancing in the Streets" anytime over Mick Jagger & David Bowie's version. I mean, C'mon! As to "Jump" well, at the time that song was on the cutting edge for rockers. Everyone followed suit after "Jump" was released.

Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Poison and for crying out loud even Aerosmith took advantage of the lead and breakthrough VH gave them. Every CVH album had a twist. Even groups like Yes, Genesis and U2 knew it was hot.

Of course my favorite is "Take Your Whiskey Home".

Fucking hell there's a blast from the past. I never realised they were on the US radar.

15 years ago or so(fuck I feel old), his bass player used to play at our monthly drinking blues jams.

The premise of those was that you get 4 or 5 guitarists and take turns to solo. He would start and you had to side read the key.

If you made a mistake or were just a bit shitty you had to have a large whisky. Obviously the problem was that if you started bad then you were quickly in deep trouble.

I can't remember much about the night I borrowed a 7 string Ibanez JEM...

                Cheers!

Didn't read every reply so kill me if I'm repeating something. I'd say pretty much every song on VH 2 would go #1 only they didn't. Favorite song off that album has to be "Bottoms up" followed by "Beautiful Girls" That's a ROCKIN good time there. Other albums had a number of #1's as far as I'm concerned, And the cradle will rock..."Take your whiskey home". Straight up AWESOME
There are those that do and those that don't. Those that didn't see what those that did had done and wish they had especially when "She looked so F#*kin GOOD"

                    :D

I remembered the song, but couldn't place who did it. For some reason, Echo And The Bunnymen came to mind. After a few searches to no avail, I tried to remember all the bands this chick I dated way back then liked. She was like a horny encyclopedia of all that college radio stuff. It's funny, she was so happy about the supposed lambasting of the song by the great Aztec Camera. Like the next day, one of her friends started babbling about Roddy Frame being a huge fan of the song...yadda-yadda, went on about how weird it was. She just fumed, and I didn't say anything.

Later on, I just fucked her again without having to endure a bunch of meaningless music discussion.

I think Sunday Afternoon In The Park would never be listened to unless it had a song following it. It sounds good on the album, and fits the mood, but just listening the song at a random time just doesn't do much for me.

Jump is an excellent VH tune, even though it was leading into the Van Hagar genre, I still enjoy it.

Big Bad Bill is also a good tune, but I don't think it could be a #1 hit song, I think you have to appreciate Van Halen to like the song. A fan of AC/DC probably wouldn't even reconise it to be a Van Halen song unless they heard the rest of the album.

gotta disagree with big bad bill...sound is good but they only did it to have Jan (dad) on the album, which isnt a bad thing..just isnt a very good song for CVH
