what makes the difference between DLR an other great screamers like Ian Gillan or David Coverdale, is that he's able to do POLYPHONIC screams...dave sings 2 notes (may be 3) at the same time !!!

instead of screaming while exhaling.......do it while your inhaling.
this will produce the desired result.
LOL ! This is is really mistaken
do you really think Dave does it inhaling ?
          You are so wrong
          This is not easy
          Its an harmonic..
there are 3 kinds of Harmonic screams
they are all the same but each one uses different "tunnels" on the throat, its not the voice
          - 1 Steven Tyler "dream on" and he still has it
          - 2 Dave...the classic one
          - 3 Dave..another one ..listen to "She's my machine" on the solo
and he does it now everytime
There are not much singers that know how to do this
The best example is David Ruffin from The temptations !!
          His scream is amazing !
          chek my band
at the end of the song i do a long dlr kinda scream
and the last short one is like an ALAE one

                      CFTH- Pages 114/115:

The natural sound was searched out to such an extent that, for example, when it was time to sing "Jamies Cryin'," I had taken special good care of myself. I'd watched what I was eating, watched what I was excercising, didn't smoke any cigarettes, nothing. Walked in, started singing, and Ted Templeman the producer said, "Dave, it doesn't sound the same. It sounds like ... it's not you, it's not real, it's like it's been worked on or something. Did you do something different? I said, "yeah, well, you know, I didn't smoke any cigarettes and really made sure of what I had for breakfast." He said, "Well go outside and smoke a joint. Somebody order up a cheeseburger." I went out and sat in a little basketball court area outside of Studio A, I think it was, at Sunset Sound recording on Sunset Boulevard. And I ate half a cheeseburger and drained a soda pop and smoked half a joint. Walked in, knocked out "Jamies Cryin' " in forty minutes.

This is what I was taught in me singing lessons. Use your diaphram to inhale, i.e. pushing your stomach out. That way you get more out of your voice and don't usually hurt your throat (though this is me we're talking about). But you have to sing a song or two before you do the scream or it will hurt. It's ironic, I was taught how to sing and yet I sound like a bloke in bass. Ah well. *^_^* lml In fact I could probably do Dave's songs very well lol!

I'm so happy, Just Like Paradise is the perfect summer song. It was playing all the way through Download last year and it fucking reminds me of good times.

And yes, I am sober *fuckshockhorror* but I just watched Just a Gigolo and I'm horny now. Meh.

THE DLR scream does not hurt, its a technique
so is the destroyer raspy thing that Steven tyler does
it does not hurt your throath or voice if its done properly
                          its hard to learn

Yeah, but it still doesn't hurt to warm up to do it properly. I can do a kind of power metal scream but hey I'm a girl. *^_^* lml
