OK, I'll sacrifice some masculinity and admit that I have this somewhere in my collection. I bought it at a flea market for about the same price as that starting bid back when I had to buy everything.
Now that I'm done trying to justify the purchase, I recall the book to be written from a female perspective, with a lot of gushing and drooling. If you can overlook that (and some of the photos that only the girls will love), there are some great Rothisms, historic footnotes and trivia that might go overlooked as more time passes and some cool photos. The funniest being those of Dave and Ed around the time of the split in '85...man, they did not look comfortable together...
interesting point ...i'll watch some pics of 1984
who looks disturbed the most ? Dave or Eddie when they were pictured together ? I think Ed ..with the same face he got on the 1996 MTV THING !
I have it. It's a picture book, mainly. Nothing in there you haven't already seen, nothing written in there you don't already know. That said, it's fun to pull it out, flip through it and remember the times when Van Halen really mattered. You should buy it.

Cool. Reminds me of the J.Geils Band, "It's not what you do, it's how you do it". Sounds very American.
French author Musset wrote something like "Don't mind about the flask, as far as you get drunkenness". :D
There's a lot of truth in all that, isn't there?
Pics got to be must haves, but if there aren't that many Dave rants to chew, well...
