    Need the Army's opinion....

Just a thought, troops.............I got my email today from the VH Newsletter deal and only then did it occur to me..........is it possible that they may have also done this to see how many people signed up, thus how many people are interested in the reunion with Roth? Almost like a demographic type study to see how much interest is out there as far as venue size and cities? Maybe I'm giving Blowing For Dollars too much credit to be that smart IF Ed's girl is in fact involved in it at all.

Just a thought and with my being more of a Ledhed, I defer to the Army on its thoughts. Just going by what most of you say as far as them not really giving a shit about their fans so I had to wonder for moment why they cared to update anyone.

I'm curious to know how many people signed up. Maybe Brad at VHND may have the inside track?

no because a lot of the people going to the concerts will be casual fans that don't check the Van Halen site.

They did the "new" newsletter thing based on 2 reasons...

      1. The old one was from a service no longer active
      2. Time to refresh since in 3+ years a lot of e-mail addresses are no longer valid.

There's no demographic info to be derived from e-mail addresses. So there's no way they could be measuring interest and tying that back to venues or cities.

Brad manages the official site van-halen.com and madanthonycafe.com.

      Jeff Hausman manages the VHND.

Neither of em know much, if anything more than we the fans do...

when you sign up, it does ask you what state you are from.

An e mail newsletter is a fast, cost effective way of notifying many people instantly about whatever's going on in your company/organization/rock band/whatever at the time.

I've set these kind of things up for everyone from corporations to political organizations to state government agencies, and in each case it improved the efficiency of communications instantly.

And God only knows that communications is one area where Van HALEN Inc. is in SERIOUS need of improvement!!

I think I know what you're getting at. Like....if the years and years of them not giving a shit about their fans is suddenly absolved by a newsletter.

                  I wouldn't know.

I didn't sign up for the stupidmotherfucking newsletter.

                  I still care though...
