Well. I have to admit that Sammy looks so sad that I almost have to have pity on the little curly mop, but his goddamn fucking bashing of Dave and his constant LIES erase any sympathy I have for him.

And the fact that he lives and Dave's shadow everyday and tries so fucking hard to make everyone forget that.

      But, they don't. No...they DON'T.

Nobody wouldve thought there would be a "sam & Dave" tour a couple years ago!! Actually, nobody was thinking the VH bros would ever do anything much again!!

          That means anything can happen?!??

Anything can happen. Until a week ago I was all in favor of a dual reunion and believed it was going to be a nice surprise for all of us fans when Dave would just magically pop out on stage, and the Best of Both Worlds would feature the three live Dave songs with Dave singing them live in 2004! Now I just wonder what is up with Ed. Does anyone besides me believe he is purposely f**king with CCC because they are controlling bastards? Yep, thats the new fantasy. Everyone takes turns ranting on Spam and blaming alternately Ed and Alex for his not being with the band. If the rehearsal is what it has come down to and this is where the band is at now-who really wants Dave back in that? And finally, the band was 25% everyone. Dave however was the MOTIVATION and the largest part of the CREATIVE FORCE behind the marketing, the stunts and shennigans that brought them into the spotlight and kept them there. For a "frontman" he did a hell of a lot of "behind the scenes" work for that band. Eddie was a guitar god...undeniably, but Dave is what got him heard.

              Well, I must admit...

...I'm a guitar player, too...so that's what really sticks to me about any band.

But don't get me wrong...Eddie becomes less of the leader of everything with DLR in there, and I really think that's the reason he doesn't want him any more...or at least acts that way.

I was hoping, praying even, that Ed would have some kind of "experience" when they discovered that cancer. I really thought he would step back and say, "whoa, this is real, and you know what? I ain't gonna be here forever..." and maybe that would push him to call Dave and try to come to a compromise. We all know they ain' t gonna love each other, they never did, but man, it was magic because of the polar opposite vibe between the two of them.

I still have hope the the light will get turned on before it's too late. And it's really nothing against Hagar, because I don't have anything against him. Heck, he's a pretty good rocker in his own right. But he ain't Van Halen. Everyone other than Eddie and maybe even Sammy know that, but some must just be too danged scared to say it.

I have hope. I really do.

All families have their problems. Dave and Ed had problems, but I think they have a lot of respect for each other as well. Just ain't manly to show it. Really, I think that each is jealous of the other as well. Firebrand, you say you think that Dave was the leader and that is why Ed doesn't want him back in there. I disagree. I don't think Ed wants to be the leader. Leadership is not for everyone. not everyone likes the spot light. Dave did and Ed didn't.

If they get together I think it will be an awesome nother 7 year stretch-but WHEN THEY WERE KINGS they were hungry young men wanting to make it big-wanting to prove themselves. They will never be that again. I think that once you have achieved the superstardom that these guys had, there is nowhere left to go. That plays a bigger part in the destruction of alot of stars than even the drugs and alcohol. The drugs and alcohol were there the whole time. Yes, I agree they have taken their toll-but even if original Van Halen came back now as good as they were in 84-the fans would enjoy the hell out of it but for the players, where is the glory? It just wouldn't be the same and that would detract from the value of what they had. IMO that is as much a contributing factor as anything else in keeping these guy from reuniting.

The clock's ticking and it's not going to happen. This is the last gasp and if you go see it, take some vicodin along so you wont remember. I consider EVH the (arguably) greatest hard rock (again arguably because VAN HALEN wasn't hard rock, but a genre all its own) geetar player of all time. In my humble opinion, the lesser of the two evils was David Lee Roth. Ed and Al have solidified themselves as liars of highest degree. At this point I'm more than willing to pop in Fair Warning and enjoy the good old days because they're gone forever my friends.

I might just be an idiot...

...and Lord knows it won't be the first time, but I just have a feeling that we'll see them playing together again before it's all over.

Or, I may just have indigestion. Too many boiled peanuts. :p

Yep I saw that tour, and they kicked ass. Never missed Ozzy for a second. that lil Dio midget rocked. Wasm't the REAL Sabbath, but its definetly up there on my favorite show list. When the hell was that 92?Whew time flies

Heaven and Hell & Mob rules are great albums, but just like sammy sounds like shit singing Roth's songs, Dio doesn't sound good singing Ozzy's songs.
