after the 2004 grab your money tour, the "wolfie"-thing, the rehab-shit, the RNRHOF-debacle and 23 years down the road full of mudslinging I really can't see the world waiting for it to happen...so let's see how much weight the VH brand can pull with dave at the helm...I highly doubt an average crowd of 15.000 ...
Can Wolfgang be the difference from playing Arena's instead of some Stadium Gigs?

Only time they really ever did was when they were at the top of a bill that had a LOT of other name acts on it (a la the US Fest or the Monsters of Rock tour).
It's not to say they might not want to try, but I think there'd be more than a few empty seats if they did.
I have doubts they could even fill a 20,000 seat arena for a two-night stand these days, outside of maybe LA.
This ain't 1996 anymore. A decade plus of time has elapsed, and the activity that has transpired under the name Van Halen during that time hasn't exactly built on the frenzy people had to see the CVH lineup in 1996.
I'd say safe money would bet they could fill 15,000-20,000 seat halls for one night shots in each venue long as the ticket prices are reasonable. Maybe multi-nights or a couple of stadium gigs if they hit the road with one or two established acts.
The die-hards may not wanna face it, but broad-based interest in the band has waned.
I also believe the "rumor" that there will be far less venues mentioned (12-15) than is reported, and most of those will be second tear ones...Last edited by Nickdfresh; 08-13-2007, 12:59 PM.Comment
