Allmans go on without Dicky Betts at times, Deep Purple without Blackmore, Sabbath w/ either Ozzy or Dio, etc... seriously, I fully appreciate MA's contributions and regardless of what people think he is an EXREMELY talented bass player and a HUGE part of the vocals (pretty much ALL the backing vocals)... but come on... enough already... Enjoy it for the moment... I mean yes, the backing vocals are going to be different, but the LEAD vocals are going to be Dave... I take the LEAD vocals over backing vocals... my preference... I just don't see MA warranting this much venom... and, Wolfie may just be a kick ass player... I remember seeing The Eric Gales Band in the 90's... teenage guitar prodigy... man he KICKED ASS live... you would never know the kid was 17... so who knows???

I'd like Mike to be involved, I really would, but sometimes in life you've got to let go.

If it took Wolfie's involvement to get Dave and Ed back together (and I'm pretty sure that we have Wolfie to thank for a large part of this) then so be it.

I think Mike has been treated poorly, really poorly, but that isn't going to change. I hope they can work things out in the future.

Is it CVH? Nope. But like Dave said, its a new band. If it takes a change to buy as a few more moments of glory, then so be it.

Like I said in another thread, if you'd go see Dave without the Van Halen boys, then there's no reason you should miss this. It's just a concert, don't make it so personal that you cut off your nose to spite your face.

No it's not Classic Van Halen but this isn't a CVH board, it's a Roth board.

The internet has been "alive" with interest since last week, so your seat won't be empty if you choose to stand on the premise that Michael Anthony isn't there.

I have lurked here for several years however been coming here more often since the Links became the Mike Navy.

I will say that up until maybe 6 months ago, nobody here gave a shit about Mike Anthony. While Alex and Eddie were assholes for their treatment of Dave, you could sense an olive branch would be extended had they made peace with Roth. Mike was always thought of as "The Bassplayer" and Sammy's prag. Sammy says "jump" and Mike says "how high master?"

Now some of you are getting misty eyed at his exclusion. I understand its not a full CVH reunion but the majority of you here always said it was about Eddie and Dave. They were the ones that made VH, CVH.

Go back to your roots and find yourselves again. Otherwise you will be seeing The Other Half this fall instead of Van Halen.

The thing for me is that it's Dave & Eddie. I wouldn't care if it was the DLR band with Eddie as guitarist.

I witnessed the magic between those two before, and I've missed it ever since they split!
