Well, I don't want to paint it as an ideal world, we still get ripped off.

I'll give you an idea. Metallica at Wembley, tickets were £40 ($80); Heaven and Hell £40 ($80); Guns n Roses £50 ($100), Iron Maiden, Ozzy etc were all about the same, Velvet Revolver a little less. Basically if you want to see a reasonably well known band you're going to pay nearly £40 for the tickets. Now that's fucking expensive, but at lest everyone pays them same price and its first come first serve (in most cases).

That's the point I was making: to me the system seems a little fairer, even if we are still getting ripped off.

But I would pay a LOT of money to see this Van Halen tour.

I was looking forward to partying with a bunch of Army personel.

I guess this is better noone has to travel as far and if there is a second leg, the tour will touch closer to the peeps who are not on the -close list- now.

Plus we get Dave back in VH, Ed up front kickin ass .

That's right. How can we forget the infamous St. Charles Gig with our friend Loons The Great (he's been hiding out lately?)...Dave cancelled to prepare for his Radio Gig. I remember I called the Casino to reimburse credit on my tix and they said Dave cancelled due to falling on stage and hurting his back....could they have come up with something more clever? Like Dave having to duke it out with Don Imus to sit on the throne at CBS or something more believable.

Nevertheless, it's all Roth history and we were a part of it and now we're about to realize a scenario that by all accounts is miraculous, but marvelous

Bottom line is every 4 and 5 star package made available for purchase so far has sold out. If anything, they left money on the table for sure.

They could and would have sold out....in time...for $1,000 a pop for the 5 stars.

I'll spring for the 5 stars at one show only. The other 2 or 3 shows will be standard GA tix.

I love the "Parking where available" line with the 5-star package.

Is there such a thing as a venue that doesn't have parking?

Maybe they picked up the money whoring attitude from Gene Simmons, the guy who did whatever with their contract.

Those seats used to be part of the regular ticket price. Get to the box office early, you get better seats. Now they collect all the good seats and jack up the price for them. That's bullshit, I don't care who the band is. bullshit. I love VH, but that is just wrong. Here's an idea, give away FREE beer. Then charge $100 to use the bathroom.

C'mon Alex, give me a break.

What are you 15 years old and you have no money?

If you don't have the means to make it to this event I hope you don't go; however, It is not very likely that having some angry commando dude that is out of beer money in the arena would contribute much to the scene anyway.
