Let's go ahead and start this rumor...

MTV Music Awards - Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Would be perfect timing. Kinda like a "We're here to finish what we started 11 years ago" kinda thing.

    Thoughts?

That would be pretty cool actually.

If they are half as good live as Dave says, then that would be a good forum to show it off in...

I like it, Jimmy. I like it very much.

It would be a good chance for Wolfgang to get his feet wet in a "controlled" environment before the craziness of hitting the road.

It would be one HELL of a surprise if it happened, and I don't think it will...but a very cool idea nonetheless.

      Excellent work, Mr. Jingles!

I'm hearing that MTV is holding out for Ms. Britney Spears to be the big draw this year. They're trying to entice her to do a monster performance to kick-off a "comeback" of sorts. If that's the case, they'll keep the rest of the show at a lull just for her.

            Oh dear Lord.

            Firstly: who cares?

Secondly: which dumbass executive thought that would be a good idea? Have they seen Britney reacently? Do they have access to youtube, her recent "gigs" were terrible?

            Jeezus....

              Seriously, Elly?

Spears is a fucking mess!! She's starting to give Lindsay Lohan a run for her money...

Anybody who can make that douchebag "K-Fed" look like a "stable environment" is truly fucked up.

Britney should just lay low and get her shit together before she pulls an Anna Nicole Smith.

              Bring on Van Halen!

Oh, I agree guys. If they want to do further damage to their yearly ratings, getting Britney is just the thang to do it. People aren't going to tune in to see her succeed and then walk away with a whole new perspective. If anything, they'll tune in in hopes that she completely falls apart on stage and then tune out after the first hour of unlistenable rap music. Why not? It'll be on TMZ.com the very next day or even sooner anyway.

The labels are trying real hard to keep their money makers relevant even though all of the album and single sales are way down. Still they try to keep that genre of music alive and in the forefront of our minds because doing something different requires work and thought.

Mindless money is so much easier.

I agree - MTV...nowadays, is completely the wrong place for Van Halen.
Now...If they could get their foot in the door to perform as part of the NFL season kickoff show on national TV - that is WAY more a Van Halen audience and a far bigger spotlight.

If and when they do, Velvet Revolver will disappear. LOL!
