One deep cut from each of the 6?? Hmmmm...I am going to cheat. :D

I want two from Fair Warning and they can skip any "deep cuts' from 1984.

      I'm the One
      Women in Love
      Romeo Delight
      So This is Love?
      Sinners Swing
      Full Bug

If I had to pick one from 1984, it would be Drop Dead Legs

Forgot about Hang 'em High! That would SMOKE live.

Some people who went to the sound checks in '04 said they were playing Drop Dead Legs (without Sammy of course...man it pisses me off just thinking about how much that prick refused to sing). So there's some hope.

I remember seeing VH in '95 at the Molson Ampitheatre here in Toronto (that pay per view). During the guitar solo EVH teased us with some riffs from Running With The Devil and the place went wild (at least I did) becasue we thought they were going to play it. I'll always remember the THRILL of hearing the one and only EVH play those riffs in his solo.

Man o man alive, this concert is going to be WILD!! Gonna have to sneak in a micky of rye to this one.

I'll Wait (Surprisingly enough, I'd like to hear Eddie whip out the synthesizer and play this along with perhaps the intro to 1984.)

                  Might be an idea.

Seriously, though, I doubt the six I pulled would be seriously considered for live performances, based solely on the idea of "hits first". Wouldn't surprise me they'd go that direction, although if they busted out with any of my choices (on a nightly basis) and the reviews were good to excellent across the board, I may change my perspective on attendence...

While I remain as much of a Roth and Van Halen fan as I've ever been, I'm very critical of the idea of anything less than 100% of the complete original lineup. I decided many years ago that I wasn't going to support any further versions of Half Halen, regardless of the lineup.

I never supported Sammy Hagar or Gary Cherone's presence in the band; why should I support yet another less-than-original lineup? To me, it all adds up to the same thing, bass being an "unimportant" instrument or anything else. It just adds up to Eddie once again calling the shots and controlling Van Halen, and when Ed controls Van Halen, disaster ensues as has been proven time and again since 1986.

I truly feel Dave's put his head on the chopping block for this, same as he did in '96 (and since I had an inside ticket to '96, I see that in a much different light than a lot of others do).

It's got nothing to do with "Mikey-Love"; I've been as critical about Mike's mullet and bass playing and Hagar support as anybody else has over the years. But the bottom line for me is that this is either the Eddie Van Halen band featuring DLR or it's the David Lee Roth band featuring EVH, and I can't consider it Van Halen at all. On principle alone, I'd never support the Eddie Van Halen band, and there've been more than a few times I've passed up going to see the David Lee Roth band, so...

Regarding my song choice, I really don't care what they play, honestly; I'm just saying I'd be surprised if the set list diverged very far from "the hits" alone...

In 1979 when I first heard/seen CVH, the vocals/harmonies were the things that caught my attention. I’m very curious if they can still pull this off without Mike and Eddie singing harmonies. It’s not CVH without the harmonies!
