Wolfie is going to be fine even though I think his dad, his uncle, and Roth are making a mistake over hyping him like he's God or somebody.

It all smells like a quick money grab. To be honest, I couldn't even watch the whole press conf. because Dave was getting on my nerves. It was so fake. Those guys must need the money.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

My fingers are crossed that it will last all the way here in LA & they ad a date in the OC.

If they do anything after that is a legitimate question.

        Agreed 100%.

There was an odd moment at the press conference that had shades of the 1996 MVAs, where Dave gave Ed a hug, but unlike 11 years ago (where Ed visibly blanched) there seemed to be a good vibe among the band members.

Whatever caused them to flip the safety on the shotgun this spring has assumedly been worked out, because they've fired off the round with the press conference and there's no recalling the bullet; short of a death or catastrophic set of circumstances, they'd damn well better make sure the tour gets off the ground. Would it be shocking if it collapsed before the first date was played? Sadly, no (at least not to anyone who has followed the saga as closely as so many of us here have over the last several years), but what's left of Van Halen's credibility (such as it is) has now been put on the line with the announcement.

Would seem obvious that they're ready to go ahead. Since nothing was ever officially announced this spring, suppose that gave them an out when nothing materialized. Same applies to a degree with the 1996 debacle.

Far as Wolfie catching flak for sitting in for Anthony, suppose if anyone wants to assign blame they should look to EVH and AVH rather than visit the 'sins' of the father unto the son; because even if Wolfie weren't there, it's doubtful MA would be anyway (and just as well in an odd way, because were Anthony to be there for the tour, Hagar would be lurking around the shows, ready to run out onstage at the first chance - which would actually be amusing to see the fat fuck get roundly booed). Outside of the hardcore CVH fans, it would be a safe guess to say 50% of the audiences won't really care much; EVH and DLR are the nucleus of the band to many anyways.

Alcohol has a lot of calories. If Ed has actually been sober for several months, that's a serious drop in calorie intake, which would cause him to lose weight. Possibly, it could have even freed up his liver to metabolize fat more efficiently, since it's not tied up with metabolizing alcohol.

I believe it was Dave (with or without help from Alex, hopefully with) who pulled the plug on the tour earlier this year, insisting that Eddie be up for the job. And if that's the case, I doubt seriously they would have gone through with this if Eddie had crawled back in the bottle.

But, as all you ex drunks and ex druggies on this board know, it's a "One Day at a Time" thing. And I ain't talking about Valerie's most famous TV role.

It was probably with Daves help. Look how alex let Ed go on tour in 2004. That speaks volumes to me.

Not only does Wolf carry the enormous task of carrying his end of the stage at sold out arenas with rabid Roth-era VH fans...he carries the extra burden in the form of bad vibes for somehow robbing Mike from his rightful spot. I guarantee you that if Ed did not have a son, it would be MA up there.

Anyway, I think the tour will be cancelled before it begins...and if it's not, a different bass player (Mike or not) will be taking that spot before the first show.

No but I think that this guy is the voice of reason. Even Wolfpuck said he is not ready for this. We shall see.
