If he plays more than two notes he has MA's bass solo beat.
will Wolfie do a bass solo?

I'd lay money down on that one. The new songs not only pack a wallop, they're labor intensive, too. They might need to mellow with an acoustic set just to recharge their batteries for a big finish.Comment

Well She's The Woman could start the long way, with Wolfie doing a short bass solo and then advancing to the song...that would be KEWL!!!Originally posted by Cato

I may be in the minority but I'll pass on the solos. If hearing a solo means I don't get to hear Hear About it Later or D.O.A....etc, I'll pass on the solos. I'll pass on an acoustic set too....would still enjoy it but I'd rather have full blown VH kicking ass on every song.Comment

Wolf doing a bass solo is great for a beer run. You can still hear him while in line just fine.
These venues really need to change the "2 beers per purchase" bullshit. Just let me walk in & buy a party ball to take to my seats. Sheesh already.
Umm...was gonna post a photo of a party ball here but found this pic while I was browsing instead. I made the right choice.

A full solo, maybe... Definitely some shared riffin' among the Three Twins, without a doubt. I think we'll feel Wolfie's presence early. I'm predicting they open with Tattoo, with those outro fades segueing right into WVH thumpin' the masses into Running With The Devil... Can ya hear that fuckin' building erupt? Damn straight...No light at the end of the tunnel, due to budget constraints...Comment

Do the people who hack on Mike's old solo recall that it was Dave'a idea for Mike's solo to be that way? It was a play on how rough Mike was in contrast to the refined musicianship of Edward. It was a gag. Theatrical. People really used to get a kick out of it but it was one of those things that you'd only want to see once. If Mike had been implored to put together a 'real' solo, he'd do just fine.Comment

I think a "short" Wolfie solo would be a cool idea ---- might shut up all the naysayers who say the kid can't play ---- or that Eddie played all the bass lines on the album.
In deference to Mikey, it might also be cool to see Wolf-Man chug some Jack before launching into the bass solo. Is it just me ---- or is it a little weird to watch a classic VH show where no one is drinking onstage? I'm 100% behind Edward's sobriety for years to come ---- but it's downright bizarre for a 20 yr. old rock star to not enjoy the perks of the road. Next thing we'll find out is that he reads the Wall Street Journal backstage instead of getting BJ's from young hotties who dig CVH music.
God damn you, Valerie ---- let Wolfie be a man for once!

I get where TJMKID is coming from...although I do NOT want to see a fucked-up-Eddie onstage for my 174 bucks. But still, for me, I do want to see a little flash of the old Diamond Dave and the rest of the band. Van Halen was and always will be the ultimate party band to me. But maybe those days are best relived via youtube, watching them in their prime. Hell, none of us are getting any youngerAnd with that said I think I'll have another drink

I get that ---- but there is a word called "moderation". Having a single drink onstage every night to make a celebratory toast to sex and rock 'n roll isn't going to lead to self-destruction.
This is 2012 and Wolfie's generation is quite aware of the dangers of addiction ---- Eddie and Alex grew up in the "everything, all the time" mantra of the 70's.Comment
