Point well taken. With the caveat that I am not aware of the statutory limit on the amount of premium one is allowed to realize re-selling concert tickets. Or, even more perplexing, what jurisdiction's regulations would govern an inter-state or even inter-national transaction like you describe.

Yes - that's worth looking into first. My assumption is that if ticket brokers can sell them at a rate, then the average joe can as well. The only limit I have seen is that certain state residents (i.e. NC for the Charlotte and Greensboro shows) can't bid more than what seems to me to be some arbitrary dollar amount. I think the ticket brokers use a set price for that reason, but I will look into (again - thanks - that's a good point).

I had a Five Star in '04 and yes, we got a short meet 'n greet with the band, long enough for autographs. It was right after the sound check and they were on the stage, so no photo op though many folks, including myself, snuck cameras in, they didn't seem to mind. We didn't meet Shammy, the fucker wouldn't come out of his dressing room but I guess we didn't miss much, friggin' prima donna.

$1,500 a pop is worth a bit more than a cursory meet-and-greet, unless one can parlay that into perhaps sneaking away from the backstage security and nip into EVH's dressing room in order to swipe a couple of axes.

500-700 dollars for a 5-star package that doesn't guarantee neither a soundcheck nor a meet/greet is piss poor...

Now, I realize that you're chances are good that you WILL indeed meet the band, but not guaranteeing it for that amount of money is just bad stuff...

In essence, you're paying that much for a $125 ticket, a few shirts and knicknacks, and a few beers and finger food....

Also, I'd like to throw out there that I recall during the '04 fiasco that many of the people that bought 4-star packages got free bump-ups to 5-stars.... But of course, that was because of the lousy ticket sales....
