What is this tour really about?

Is this tour really about the CVH fans or just the money? It seems like when it comes down to it, it’s all about the money, from the 5 and 4 star VIP packages being $700 and $400 to the promoters selling front floor tickets to Brokers before fans have a chance to get them for face Value threw Ticketmaster and arena box office. Back in the day during the early 80’s during Van Halen’s prime was it this corporate and wore promoters and bands this money hungry? At all of these shows I can see businessmen and women in their suits and dresses, smoking their expensive cigars, sipping on champagne and blue label Johnny Walker.

When I heard about Dave getting back in VH I got excited, I’ve been waiting for this since I was a kid, but it sickens me how it seems corporate business is fucking with the fans.

At the end of the day, it's all about the money. Don't ever fool yourself. It was about the money in 2004 when Eddie made Mike sign away his rights to the catalog and name...it's about money now, considering he now knows he can't begin to sell a tour without DLR fronting...it's about money because Wolfgang is there, rather than a REAL bassist...all the money stays in the family...

$$$$$$$ = Van Halen, and that's probably not going to change ever again.

It could be about the thoughts of a post-alcoholic - kind of like Sid Barrett's music from Pink Floyd - except with drugs.

What should they do? Go on tour for free? I miss those old $7.50 tickets from the late 70's as much as anybody. But times are different now and it sucks. My generation has raped this country's economy and made an affordable way of life impossible. It's embarrassing.

The music industry's been that way since... the 90's at least, I believe.

No, but this whole tour seems to be all corporate from day one!, even the damn store website is promoting ticket sales through a ticket broker!

It should be all about hearing and seeing Dave and Eddie, but it's fucked up that the true fans will be setting way back floor, lower level and upper level, when the rich fucks that don't even give a shit about the band gets all the front seats!

That's life bro... almost all musicians dream about making it big, going on tour and raking in a lot of cash.. The Van Halens are no different.. Things also cost more these days too.. Fuel for the trucks.. roadies.. techs.. marketing.. PR... the list goes on.. They ain't cheap.. So if you want to see them play you're gonna have to pay..
Otherwise.. just look for the bootlegs on the internet around Sept 28th
Three time witness to the comeback of the MIGHTY VAN HALEN. And then they faded back into obscurity.

Well, when these guys first started out it was all about sex, drugs and rock n roll, and turning out some of the best music the planet has ever heard. It's still about turning out great music, but with fame comes money and lots of it. So yea, it's also about money.

It's about money and there's some significant money needs within the band.

                          It's all about business.

I really wish I could make everyone feel like I do about this thing. It's just cool to me.

I'm not climbing from the ceiling acting like it's the Second Coming, not like it's some reunion, or alignment of the planets. It's just very cool to know that Dave is back in front, and I'm gonna be there to see it.

I'm excited about seeing Alex play and I know there are going to be times when it will be a "live show" with flat notes, missed ques, and other issues. Comes with the territory (unless you're Green Day).

But this tour is like any other. It's just a show.
One that I'm proud to be a ticketholder.

Everything has it's equilibrium price. For me the prices are too steep. I've seen Roth and I saw VH in San Jose. Frankly I think it's not going to work very well because the VH brothers have gotten old and dorky. Dave is still Dave but he's not Mr. Rogers and doesn't need a kid on stage with him.

I'm not knocking the people who want to see it but for me, the excitement just isn't there. I would have seen it a decade ago.

Dave telling CBS radio to fuck themselves.
