It took Mike being booted from the band to be noticed. Now you hear people going way overboard with comments like, "Mike is a great bassist" and "Mike is just as important to VH as Dave and Ed". You rarely heard these things when he was in the band.Originally posted by firestarter

Mike is more famous from CVH fans and some of the media talking about him being in the reunion. than playing in Spammy's band or back in the CVH days.Comment

I don't think that's quite fair.
Mike is easily as famous as the bassist for Aeorsmith. What's his name again??? Ok....bad example.
How about the bassist for Bon Jovi? I can't think of his name right now either.
Ok....MAYBE he's as well known as the bassist for Ozzy? Alright, dammit, I don't know him either.
The fact is, unless the bassist is either a lead singer (Geddy Lee) or a phenom (Flea), most of the general public isn't going to have a clue as to who he is. This is the most attention Mike has ever recieved.

Once Eddie gets the chance to tour with his son,
MA could be back later on anyway.
Look at the history of the band and its members,
I wouldn't rule out a return of Mike at some point..
As for his importance in the tour...
- Backing Vocals (can easily be covered)
- Bass lines (Wolf will nail it)
- Crowd Pleaser (Is seeing Dave and Ed not enough ??)
How many of you would go to a Van HAlen gig and
watch the bassplayer all night ??
Wolf may turn out to be a huge crowd favorite in his
own right, who the hell knows ?? Gonna be interesting
to see..
