Originally posted by knuckleboner dark arena. long, extended drum opening to everybody wants some. jungle noises. eventually, real dim spotlight just on ed's guitar as he teases the starting riff. back to extended drums. finally ed goes into the beginning. dave does his now-quasi splits off the riser and lets loose the opening scream. band launches into full bore mode. ensuing sonic boom causes van hagar albums to begin spontaneously combusting.
the best shit ever is when Dave stops in the middle of song 2 or 3 and asks his SCREAMING audience... "IS EVERYONE HAVING A GOOD TIME SO FAR?!"

spandex and/or leather on Dave is a must
Any of his outfits from Shoo Bop (below) would look awesome (except the Popeye suit...he can save that for when he and I are role playing after the show :D )
seriously, he is one of the only 50 somethings who can get away with still wearing spandex and looking hotter than hell

As much, I would love to see Dave and Eddie grow their hair out and dress like 1984, they're not going to do it, sicne it's not the 80's anymore and it's over 20 years later.
The one thing we can count on is the return of "The Mighty Van Halen" intro. Then Ed's guitar and, as the lights nearly blind us, the return of Diamond Dave in all his glory.
There's lots of songs that would fit that: Romeo Delight, Unchained, etc. And I can't wait to see which one they choose.
Stage and entire building is dark, then a spotlight opens on Wolfie as he plucks the cords to Runnin with the Devil, then two spotlights on Alex and Ed as they rip into the song and then just as Dave starts the first Scream the whole stage lights up with pryo and away we go.
No spilts from the drum riser because then we will undoubtably be listening to "Someone get me a Doctor" for real, lol.
