I too would love to hear some acoustic VH. Either on tour, new album or an MTV unplugged. It would sound great stripped down
    This space for rent.

If they survive the tour and stick with it..I'd love to see an acoustic set. They have lots of great stuff that could work in that genre.
Three time witness to the comeback of the MIGHTY VAN HALEN. And then they faded back into obscurity.

when I saw this thread, this was the first thing I thought of. I really don't need to see anything anymore unplugged than this.

To me, the magic of VH is the sound. This does not sound like VH to me.

I would rather hear them do covers of other artists acoustic songs (like Bakers Street, for example) than to fuck with their own material any more. Just my opinion.

They could do "Could This Be Magic", then bust out "Goin' Places" from Dave's DLR Band album, and from there it's a natural progression into "Take Your Whiskey Home, and then they plug back in at the usual place in that song. Or they could change it up a little and do two verses on the acoustics.
Isn't "Could this be magic", already played unplugged?, jut like "Ice Cream man"

                  I always hated Mtv unplugged.
People were just butchering their music. With exception of maybe two or three songs.
I am glad VH didn't do that shit.

I'm fine with acoustic songs though. It doesn't get much better than Could this be magic or Spanish fly.

Maybe Ed could call Gary as special guest to sing How many say I as encore!

I kept looking around to see if I could start some sh!t and find someone to "Kill Me"At Wally World today.

Muzzak over the speakers was some out of tune -Black Dude- singing his Lamentations like he was slowly riding a baseball bat with his hand on his dikk.

Oh yeah it wasn't pencil dikk whitey .
I'm shure it was some black dude with, I am the love master lie in his head.

Singing about the Cokk is all they seem to sing about .I bet any member of O&A radical pests could tell me whos Cokk he was singing about.

Aaahh eehhhhhh ehe eh stickin it in you find ...you way out the door
                    .....Greeeeeeeeeeeeesyy ....Sticky Butttttttt....ehhhhhh eheh

Was about all I could make out .

Catchy tune for the kidos at the store....

                          Not really.

Suppose the IDEA of Roth and the Van Halens onstage doing acoustic music is interesting, but outside of obvious choices like Secrets, much of the CVH catalog wouldn't really be made any better by unplugging.

Best to hear it raw, loud and electrified...you know, the way most of it was made the first time around.

Only VH songs should be played unplugged are:

                            "Mean Streets"
                            "Women and Children First"
                            "Ice Cream Man"

                            and maybe

                            "Jump"

I think if Megadeth can do an entire set of their songs unplugged, VH can.

I am going to get killed for this...

In one of the threads about set lists for this tour, someone mentioned that they could imagine VH and Roth doing "Finish What Ya Started" At first this seemed really strange to me.. but the more I think about it, I think that song could sound really good with Dave singing.

I think if they did an unplugged show, this song might be an interesting and unexpected choice.. and it just might work with Dave at the mic.

Sorry in advance for those of you who are now furious at me for even suggesting this!!
