Now I know theres probably as much dissapointment around the air right now as there is elation. Fair enough too. Everyones got their favorite lead singer, and everyone has their own ideas about how VH should progress.

But the personal attacks are going way overboard right now. Some posters have quite frankly lost the plot a bit. Might be worth just reading some of these rules posted back in September last year, when things were getting outta hand. Brett (or Bronte, or whatever his name is!) posted them up. ANd he's paying the bills, so he's probably worth listening too once in a while.

In particular...


2. If you personally attack or insult another individual, and I SEE IT, you will be warned once, then you will be banned the second time. No reprieve. If you can't debate and argue like adults without resorting to petty attacks, you will not be welcome here anymore. Enough is enough. And don't email me or say on the board that "So and so said this 4 weeks ago and you did nothing." If I don't see the post when I happen to be on the board, then I'm not going to do anything about things in the past. Think of it like speeding in your car. You get away with it all the time, but once in a while the cop pulls you over. Same thing here, if someone is constantly attacking other users eventually I will see if I've been missing it. If you can't have the Sam/Dave war without resorting to childish attacks and petty name-calling, you won't be posting here anymore. If you don't agree or like this policy, don't post here anymore.

3. If you personally attack me, Tim, Goo, or any other moderator, you will be banned. Constructive criticism and discussion is of course fine. Common sense should tell you when you're crossing over the line. If it doesn't we'll help you. The mods here deal with all the crap for free, they get nothing out of moderating on this site, except they love Van Halen and help me out tremendously. You attack them, you're gone, simple. If you attack me, Tim, or Goo, you're gone. I could care less if you hate us or not, but you won't waste my bandwidth and my dollars telling me you do. Waste some else's. If you don't agree or like this policy, don't post here anymore.

Why close threads all the time?

Does a closed thread mean 'We don't want anyone talking about this or looking at it?"

If noone wants to respond then they won't and it disappears in a day or two.

They enjoy the power trip of strutting around the forums closing threads. I bet they have to wear uniforms when they're on duty and be on webcam all the time so Brett can make sure they're wearing them.

Yes Brent makes us wear gray jump suits and a helmet when we are online working at the Links. We each have our own badge very similar to that of a McDonalds employee. None of us are allowed to ever look Brent in the eye, and we are allways to refer to him as Mr Emporer.

Personally I get off on closing threads, nothing makes me happier. I have even gone as far as making a fake VH LINKS board so I can close what ever the fuck I want. I have even ordered a personalized License plate that says - CLOSED!!

My ex-girlfriend and I used to do it doggie style only, this way I could close threads right as I was about to cum, you should try it sometime. Its fucking amazing the power I would feel as I closed a thread and gave it to her from behind. Slapping her ass and hitting the CLOSED button.....Ohhh man I am getting horney as we speak.
