Question regarding Mikey and VH copy rights

Does Mikey's outing mean it might be more difficult for Ed, Alex, and Dave to release a box set or old concert footage? I know Anthony is off the song credits but as a performer in the Oakland concert you would think he could say "fuck you" to Dave and boys and not agree to release it. Your take please.

Honestly I don't think they will ever release that footage, they'll keep it forever to taunt us fans with. If they do decide they want to release it I hope Mike doesn't decide to be a jerk about it. He's taken alot of their bullshit relatively well. I think he would let the footage be released, maybe in return for the writing credit on the songs he was removed from.

No. If it's ever released. Mike talked to Rolling Stone recently and said he did sign away a lot of rights for the 2004 tour-merchandising, percentage splits. He said it did not affect his royalties. So VH has to decide if they want to release anything, even though Mike would get his share. I say do it. 25% each if they release is better than 0% if they don't.
When the shit hits the fan, close your mouth and duck.

So, you're saying Ed, Alex and Dave and do what the want with the material (music and possible video stuff) and Mikey has no say but will still collect royalties? Did I get that right?

Yes. Mike can't stop them. He'll still get his check.

Why would bassplayer want to stop them from releasing stuff he gets royalties from?

Hell, nobody in their right mind would do such a thing.

He does not care what they do with the VH catalog, as he gets paid for everything that gets released.

If they release a live DVD of any show or any song off this tour, he gets a royalty for it if he was one of the original writers, whether spEd likes it or not.
