This most stellar of threads is about to be put to bed for good. Almost 10K views! And soon we will have actual concert footage to watch. I've truly enjoyed this thread probably more than any other ever.
ROTH ON!!!

Originally posted by Hardrock69 I have a friend who knows the head bus driver for the VH tour.
He told me yesterday that the dates announced so far are all they are gonna do, and then that will be all.
Permanently.
I have a hard time believing that, HR.
If this was truly going to be a "farewell tour" followed by permanent retirement, then they would market it as such and they would make an absolute KILLING!!
If this was billed as "Happy Trails: The Van Halen Farewell Tour", then all shows probably would have sold out INSTANTLY, and they would be going beyond the borders of the continental U.S..
Then again, I guess they could have still marketed it as a "Farewell Tour" but still come back again.
Hasn't KISS done that about 5 times over the last decade?
In the end...who the hell knows what will really happen? Given the erratic nature of the Van Halen brothers, ANYTHING is possible!

They are already doing that. As for this actually being it for them, I say no way. They are going to see first hand how fast they sell out, how much the crowd loves them, how good they still are together, and how much money is to be made.
