What's Sold Out and what's not?

After my "brilliant" post on Alex's 31's I thought I'd try and get my rep back with a more serious post.

I just checked tickets for Charlotte (Charlotte is listed as Sold Out on van-halen.com), and there are several really great tickets available both on floor and lower level. Even up to 6 in a row (?)...

Then I checked Greensboro (which is NOT listed as Sold Out on van-halen.com). For Greensboro there are only random tickets availabe and only when you search for one ticket. If you look for two, there are no tkts available...

Same with several dates that are not listed as Sold Out.

I know there have been numerous posts about Ticketmasters strategies. But whatever, shouldn't Van Halen's website update what's Sold Out or not? Just don't get it...

On the other hand, maybe I should focus on looking forward to seeing the worlds greatest band live again!

But having worked many years in touring and record industry (at majors) I do not recognise this way of selling tickets with Sold Out one day and premium seats avail the next day for the same show..

i read on here somewhere that in the ticket selling biz, that as long as theres only 10-11 percent of the tickets left, it is considered sold out.

hey man you have some serious threads out there to contend with, so dont take it seriously that everyone is ignoring your posts.

5 months ago youd be getting 5 stars for your postsLOL.

just kiddin, now go watch some videos of the band.

I'm certainly never buying tickets right as they go on sale ever again, though. No sir.

Fuck no. Me neither. I have finally experienced firsthand why they are called Ticketbastard.

It's called a ticket drop. Promoter held tickets back for whatever reason and now is ready to sell them...the arena has a better idea of the stage setup and puts more onsale...this is nothing new. Happens at every arena around except MSG really.

The lesson is this - NEVER pull the trigger on the shitty seats at 10:10 am. They LOVE to sell the shitty seats first via presales and early sales...cause why not? They'll always be able to sell the good ones.

Last week, a ton of front floor Charlotte seats went on sale, and great lowers are available now
