    Charlotte Show Recap

The show last night was outstanding! After so many years of waiting, I was prepared to be disappointed, but I was not.
The guys sounded great. The setlist was great! The energy was there.

It was like seeing Edward back from the dead, and it sure is great to see Dave with the audience he deserves! Hey, they aren't 20 something anymore, but neither are most of us fans!

Wolfie did a great job. So great, in fact, that I am pretty sure they had some pre-recorded help with backing vocals. It sounded too perfect to be good. I suspect the vocals were imported just like the keyboards.

    There were some minor issues...

The mics fed back way too much. Whenever someone went out on the vanity stage/ramp, the mics fed back. In 2007, that shouldn't happen.

The worst part was the fans. It was like a super bowl audience. I think a lot of people were there because it was a hot ticket, not because they love the band. Looking across the audience, at least half stood there like they were at the library. Show some life people, or let real fans have the tickets!

All and all, it was money well spent. I wouldn't have missed it for the world!

So, what did the rest of you think that were at the show?
Yeah right she says, maybe in your dreams!

the fans in my section were all pretty fired up. I had aisle seats and we were all high-fiving the other guys across the aisle.

if anyone else wasn't enjoying it, I missed it. I was ecstatic in my little world.

I don't know about wolfie's vox... looked to me like he was doing that heavy lifting live in front of our naked steaming eyes and ears.

    frankly, I don't care.

one other thing, and it pains me to say this because I really do like Mike Anthony, but he was not missed at all. it is really a shit deal for Mike that Wolf is as good as he is.

this is a new band and I love the potential it has.

I really think you all were at a history making show .I will enjoy the KC show and maybe another but the kinks are still there for your show, they will be worked out and -we- later on will probably get a technically better performance.

I really wish that I had saved a few more duckets to burn and made the first show .

To say I was there is the Sh!T.

      You Lucky Muthas..

      Thanks for the reviews.

      More More.

I am so Geeked about all this.

Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

Tell me that Dave didnt do the 'Jack-Daniels-cuming-on-the-first-row' thing...

Did he threaten to fuck someones girlfriend?

Also, how was the security? You think I could get a video camera in and film if I was up in a balcony section?

Best line from a review I have read so far: "this is a new band and I love the potential it has". Thanks damngoodtimes...
Maybe this is what a heroine addict feels like after getting a long awaited fix, shooting up in the corner of some abandoned building and just not giving a fuck about what the rest of the world thinks...TATTOO"

No e-JACK-ulation from Dave...not during the show anyways.

He didn't tell anybody he was gonna fuck their chick, but he did kiss some chick on the forehead.

Camera? Get that motherfucker in there. I made a big mistake not taking mine in like I planned, and I was very close to the front---front row of the lower level and aisle on Eddie's side close to the end of the ramp. I coulda gotten some beautiful shots had I not been such a pussy (see my comments on this subject in the Charlotte thread.)

Was there any Jack Daniels at all?

Yes Ed did smoke... During his solo he did a little three stooges spin on the floor while smoking then blew rings up in the air.. Very cool.
Also I think he got caught off guard during a smoke break on Ice Cream man... He was late for his cue and couldn't get his guitar strap on and had to play for a while without it.
Three time witness to the comeback of the MIGHTY VAN HALEN. And then they faded back into obscurity.

After Eddie did that funny little spin on the floor during his solo, he picked up his cig from the floor and started blowing smoke rings while he was still lying down. As much as I hate to see him smoking, it was really funny. You could tell the man was having the time of his life. He looked like a child on Christmas but in old guy's skin.

It was truly like a religious experience being there and soaking all that up and feeding it right back... the place was packed to the rafters and virtually no one sat down from opening note to last.

Sam, and Mike for the matter, along with the whole van hagar cheese era was buried six feet under last night. Make NO mistake.

I have seen the band as much or more than anyone over the years, tons of Dave solo, too... and yes, even with Sam out front a couple times and him on the Sans Halen tour.

Alex smiled the whole night (and worked his ass off), and I think that says a whole hell of a lot beyond the more obvious good time Ed and Dave were having out front.

Never, *maybe* with the sole exception of Fox theater '78 have they ever sounded better live - and I've been around enough to know.

                      FIVE MF'n STARS!!!!!

It's damn real, boys and girls, believe you me.

                      Damn REAL.

2+ hours of non-stop, legitimate Rock & Roll history my friends.

Whatever it takes, go see this tour - go see this tour today, tomorrow and next Thursday, too...
