Both parties have admitted there was no other path for them to carry on, safe a deadend...
The Van Halen brothers are being redeemed (not for everyone, OK, but...) by this Tour, whereas Dave's career is back to its normal level of coverage.

Originally posted by dave_is_vh This will continue because Ed wants to record a studio CD with Wolfgang and the other singer is no longer a feasible alternative.
There are likely TWO reasons the tour will survive:
The presence of the kid (sorry, but dad surely doesn't want to let his only son down on his 1st tour..)
Ed's likely found Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors.
Whether this will continue depends on Ed's continued participation in psych therapy (drug &/or otherwise..) & the avoidance of relapse...

Have the sisters saved Dave?
Back to the orig question...
Both have obviously prospered as a result; however, Dave has been the recipient of the much greater (well deserved, I might add..) boost, as evidenced by his somewhat humbled behavior thus far.....
Whether or not said newly-found humility survives the tour, or beyond... is anyone's guess...

Right on bro...I'm with ya on that, the future is what will decide the rideout of all their careers..If the magic is there and we get an album (soon) then I believe they will rise up again and and kick some major ass...with hope and faith!!!
