Having to mention the name of a corporation everytime I mention the name of an arena gets on my mother fucking nerves. VH's tour stops:

The venue is a business...a business has to make money...therefore they need sponsors who have the arena named after them.

And, besides...what's in a building's name when youi lucky fuckers get to see the mighty Van Halen?

most of us here still call the Q the Gund...sometimes if someone asks where the show is you'll hear "Gateway," which was the name of the arena/ballpark construction project.

It pisses me off, too. Same with the stadiums. Why not do something tasteful and name the stadium after the team or somebody (player or even politician or whatever) that was important to the team either to their playing history or to getting the team in that city or something. Now, the last couple ones with real names are being torn down in favor of GrowYourPenis.com Coliseum.

At least I saw my two VH shows at Charlotte Bobcats Arena and Greensboro Coliseum... nothing wrong with those names... for now... by next year they'll probably be named after a bank.

But....it pays the bills in many cases so I can see why it happens.

I'm glad they didn't kick the tour off in an arena with corporate sponsorship. I noticed Panther stadium on my way into town. Kinda reminded me of the old Atlanta Fulton County stadium the way it just lurked there.
