    Dave Cameos

Does anyone else remember Dave making two video cameos around 1984?

The first was a video for Mozart's "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" that was released (I think) to promote the movie Amadeus. Dave comes up to a podium acting like an orchestra conductor and says something like "Lets get this right the first time, this suit is rented" Then the video is a collage of scenes from rock videos from all sorts of bands (including scenes from Jump) as Mozart's music is played. Then at the end its Dave again taking a bow. His part was the only new material in the video.

The other was a Frank Sinatra video. It starts with Dave and Eddie coming out the backdoor from a concert. They have a big crowd of fans around them. Then Dave and Eddie get into a Limo. Dave pulls out a videotape and says to Eddie "'How about a little Frank". Then he plays the tape and the music starts and the video shifts to cameos from a bunch of rock and pop stars with some Rat Pack-ers ( I remember one scene of Dale Bozzio from Missing Persons sharing a drink with Dean Martin)

Anyway, I have only seen these videos once each. Does anyone remember ever seeing them?

That second one you mention seems to be stirring some sort of neurological memory type response in my Beer bank.....

Shit, I'd totally forgotten about the Mozart thing! I don't think I've seen that in 20 years. As for the Sinatra thing, I think I saw part of that a while back on some VH1 80's episode or whatever. If anyone's got the clips, post 'em!

I would LOVE to see this... as much as I love DLR, Sinatra will always be my main man... Frank did an album with Quincy Jones in 84... so it must be a video for one of those songs. I never even knew he made a video, and I know much more about Sinatra than probably any 24 year old girl should. ;-)

so if anyone has a clip of this and can post it, I will worship and love you forever!!

                          Nancy,

I think the Sinatra song was "L.A. is my Lady". If I remember correctly Sinatra only appears at the very end. I know Dean Martin was in the video and I think some of the other Rat Packer's were in there too.

thanks Mike! I had never heard of this video before... hopefully will be able to download it next month. A guy who knows about Sinatra and DLR is a man after my own heart... ;-)
