Van Hagar Ripping Off The Fans

Ed and this sorry excuse he calls a reunion band are ripping ofans "big big big time". Lets start with the music, mediocre at best , sounds like a bad sound track to a b movie. The songs sound forced and put together with spit and bubble gum on the spur of the ff the moment.

The guitar is not up to Ed`s old standards. The lyrics are bad at best .They make Kenny Loggins sound like a lyrical genius. The interviews and promotion for this tour are nothing but fluff .

They get together say "how great everything is" to the point that you feel as though they are trying to talk themselves into believing it...

I know you have to promote these three turds that you have spewed out but come on .SAYING THAT YOU THINK "THIS IS THE BEST THING YOU`VE EVER WRITTEN".thats a bit much to say and saying it just proves how forced this charade really is. Not to mention this retread of a greatest hits cd and high ticket prices.

In 96 the brothers stated that "1984 Dave" is no more and touring with him would be ripping off the fans. WELL I HAVE BAD NEWS FOR THE BOYS 1984 EDWARD VAN HALEN AND ALEX ARE NO MORE AND TOURING WITH THEM WOULD BE RIPPING OFF THE FANS. EDWARD GET HELP WHILE YOU STILL CAN!

It should be interesting to see how this tour goes .I don`t believe that Ed and sammy can get through this with no hard feelings ... pretending nothing happened and just moving on sooner or later it will come to a boil .

Don't see it as ripping off the fans, because Van Hagar have made no secret of what they're doing. I mean, they're going out on a tour in support of a greatest hits album and playing Van Hagar songs. Everyone knows that.

All that bullshit from Alex and Ed in 1996 about Roth being washed up and not being able to cut it live have been proved wrong by Dave himself.

Bottom line is it's Ed and Al who have bottomed out, and Sammy's only too happy to oblige. With the half-hearted effort put into the new tracks, Van Hagar shouldn't have even bothered. Same goes with the Best Of Vol 2. I mean, are the sisters gonna keep releasing Best Of's as a way to resell all of the previously released material? Are we gonna get an album's worth of new material out of these guys two tracks at time on the tail end of a greatest hits compilation over a period of a decade? The whole 2004 Van Halen undertaking just smacks of laziness and a lack of effort. Couldn't these fuckers come up with a decent box set, chock full of previously unreleased material?

Is it that fucking hard to make an effort? Van Halen are beginning to slip into the pattern of such acts as the Eagles, The Who, The Rolling Stones and the like. Good for nothing but releasing previously released material and cashing in on memories. Enough people settle for this kind of half-assed effort to make it a lucrative venture.

I'm betting there are more people willing to part with their hard-earned money in exchange for a full-length album of new material by a classic lineup and tour dates from said group than will shell out cash for another greatest hits album and Van Hagar retreads. Ed and Al don't even put out the effort to maximize milking a cash cow. It's like they can't be bothered to do anything new, but they can't be bothered to sell out in a way that will give them the greatest amount of success.

      Lazy fuckers.

What do you expect but a sorry performance? This is Spammy Hagar, for goodness sake, not Diamond Dave!

SRK it is very sad that Dave will never front what was once the greatest American Rock Band of all time. I never saw them with Dave and would jump at the chance if he ever did a live gig with them again. Van Hagar is a pop band not a rock band. I am sick of hearing Sam's lame ass lyrics and screeching voice. Me Wise Magic puts the three new songs to shame. When I first heard MWM I said that is the Van Halen I grew up with. Whenever I hear a new tune with Spammy I just scratch my head and say what would it have sounded like if Dave wrote the lyrics and sang on this tune? One only knows?

And Ed and Sam have made many "nostalgia isnt for us" type comments over the past 8 years. At least Dave makes no bones about saying he would be up for a reunion.

I have never heard a song with Hagar as thier frontman all the way through. If the radio cant get turned off fast enough it gets smashed. When they started this abortion all i heard was Roth bashing and not one peep from Diamond D.Those with class hold thier tongues.Roth simply delivered the energy I loved and made me laugh my ass off and continues to do so.Ed and Sammy tried to feed me rip off Clapton fretting and "sissified grew-up-way-too-close-to-mommy" lyrics Im suspicious Valerie inspired.
I read Dave's Bio tree times and he put it eloquently and to the point, with no foul language that "Ed Van Halen without a guitar in his hand was a crummy human being".To be up for a reunion with those two pricks (who is Mike Anthony anyway?)shows that positive-can-do spark that fired this up in the first place.
So seriously they have the balls to tour this again?Gas for the Yaht must be pretty expensive...........

Yeah I got that prob with radios too.. Luckily in OZ they dont play a lot
of Van Hagar, but occasionally "Dreams" slips through the net. My radios get very nervous when that happens..

No kidding. Has virtually every track circa 1978-1994 that was already on BOV1 on it.

Is anybody, even if you are the most avid Van Hagar sheep, gonna shell out money for this thing? Presumably you already own the songs already, and the three new tracks can be scooped up for nothing with a download.

Bad enough I had to shell out for a full-priced album to get 2 new Roth songs in 1996, and get all that Van Hagar shit to boot. Would have to say even if they put out some new Roth stuff on this one (presuming there was anything actually recorded in 2000), no way am I gonna pay upwards of $20 to buy a bunch of Van Hagar material in the process.
