If you notice, it was an EDITED post. But, it was after 20 minutes, so I couldn't re-post the edit. The original had a section which didn't make sense, so I clarified it. And, in order to have it clarified, the only way I could post the clarified post was as a quote since it was, again, over 20 minutes.

For example...if you had evidence on a board somewhere of me boasting of owning "Balance" on vinyl (or even knowing a title of ANY song on that album) THEN you could label me a Van Hagar fanboi. I challenge anyone to find ANY evidence ANYWHERE of me being a Hagar fanboi...or ANY fanboi for that matter. I don't blindly follow...especially when something sucks.

I watched the footage. Yes, Dave sounds great considering how he sounded for the last 15 years. EVH is more controlled and much more impressive in that clip as well. The bass during the solo section of "Everybody Wants Some" at 4:20 is so completely terribly wrong that it is beyond a joke. He even slightly throws Edward off. The brothers should allow Dave to ACT like himself, however (Dave acted like Dave up until his last solo dates) as having him just stand there strutting like Cherone hampers the "intensity" that my first post on this thread referred to.

Getting back to the point...while a 2nd row perspective HELPS with the PERCEIVED "intensity" of the "new" Halen, it must be noted that NO ONE needs any special presentation when watching ANY 1980's Van Halen concert shot by ANYONE from ANY source (film, videotape, pro-shot, horrible quality) to notice the INTENSITY. That elusive "wow" quality of the original band OOZES intensity no matter WHAT the show or WHAT the recording quality. To state that the "new" Halen is NO DIFFERENT from that is LAUGHABLE and the biggest stretch since the "new" Duke Boys.
