Eddie Van Halen Saves Fan From Certain Ass Whooping!

On Wednesday, December 5th Van Halen performed in Vancouver, BC’s GM Place to another sold out house. After Van Halen took their final bow, an excited fan jumped onstage running past David Lee Roth while shaking hands with Alex Van Halen. By this time the security was on the stage in pursuit as the fan ran past Eddie Van Halen towards the side of the stage. Ed appeared to try and stop the guy from jumping off the stage by signaling for him to not go that way. The guy didn’t heed Ed's warning and attempted to jump off of the stage from what looked like a covered area. Rather than making a clean jump, the curtained floor collapsed beneath him and he went down like a ton of bricks face first.

As the security descended upon the guy for an assured beating, Eddie walked off the stage to see if he was alright. Upon seeing that the guy was obviously pretty banged up, Eddie separated him from security and walked with him, arm around shoulder backstage.

The Rock n’ Roll Breakfast Show’s Reverend Donnie Black will be interviewing ‘The Fan’ on this Friday’s show around 1:30PM PST. Tune in online at: www.rocknrollbreakfast.com and hear what happened!

Excerpt from the email exchange between the Reverend and ‘The Fan’:

Rev: ” So what happened after you and Ed walked off the stage? I was talking about you on our last show, and would love to hear the story.”

The Fan: “…After I bailed I noticed security all around me and I accepted my fate then I felt a hand on my shoulder and I thought it was another guard, but I turned and lone behold it was the Mighty Eddie Van Halen. Right away he asked if I was alright and told the security to back off and not beat me to a pulp… “

At the very end of the clip you will see the guy run past the band. After he is out of frame you can hear the crowd “Oooh,” as he bails off the stage. Ed walks over to him and the video ends shortly afterwards. There will be another clip coming soon which shows when Ed puts his arm around the guy and walks off the stage.

        Must be a blue moon...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

Van Halen are bigger than Life.

Seriously. Van Halen make songs all about what makes Life worth living.

I can't blame that guy for going on the Stage.

If I went to see them and was able to get up so stage.

Know what I would do(given chance)....

I'd Shake all of their hands because they are "TRUE GENTLEMEN".

A few years back, my brother and I swallowed our pride as Roth Van Halen fans and went to see Sam Halen figuring that'd probably be our only chance of seeing Ed, Al and Mike.
I however, wore a Dave outfit (circa Fair Warning) made for me and flew my true colours as a classic VH fan. I did have the thought cross my mind of interupting the show in my Dave costume, fully anticipating a beating.
I originally thought that my tickets were near the top row of the lower level, in full view of the stage so Sam would see me, but instead they were top row of the upper level in the nose bleeds (scalper lied). I was literally outta sight. The Dave fans in my section loved me though. The funniest thing was when a drunk thought I was Duff McKagen!! I absolutely howled!

EVH has taken his share of "headers" in his time.....

He probably thought...."Damn, I bet that hurt as much as the last time I fell like that..." and instantly went to the dudes aid......

I'm not sure Eddie of a few years ago would have done that, of course I don't know him personally so who's to say. :D

                            I hope it wasn't actually an end-of-show-meltdown!!!!

One of the greatest concert moments of all time. Dude jumps on stage and is about to be tackled by Big Ed then Dave chimes in with something like "Fuck he made it this far. Give that guy a shot"
