Fear and Loathing @ the Van Halen show

Frankly, I'm glad to see the tour finding it's way. The cuntbersome reports of additional shows and gushing reviews have become a bore.

Thank goodness for the motherfuckers that are diving off stages, and getting thrown out by security. While not aesthetically, or politically correct, these reports renew my faith in the VAN HALEN crowd.

Maybe this snowballing cavalcade of mayhem has something to do with the lack of promotion? Are people scared?

Grab your flak jackets and pray for the flashpots!!!

They say the Van Halen audience is a rowdy bunch of mother fuckers...

They're by and large now all in their 50's, but this is a promising start...

    Twistin' by the pool.

I think the problem is that at well over $150 a pop - who wants to get thrown out? I could also see the venue pressing charges...

Great point.. going to a show is an investment nowadays. Nobody wants to waste hundres of dollars of tickets.
Three time witness to the comeback of the MIGHTY VAN HALEN. And then they faded back into obscurity.

Fear and Loathing in Van Halen

We were somewhere around Panama on the edge of the desert when the drugs begin to take hold...'

And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like Beautiful Girls, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Van Halen.'

We'll get around to the ether binge later....

Well, I don't know about other cities, but there was a copious amount of alcohol consumed prior and during said event.

Let's just say it was about as rowdy as the one in 84 and the ZZ top concert the year before that.

The same people, with about 100 times the disposable incomemore than makes up for any lack of testosterone in some.

My recollection was/is that Van Halen played Vancouver May 1st, 1984, and ZZ top played a few days later (like May 6th or something) that same month (when the 30K damage was done to the floor seats).

I thought it was Motley Crue and the Scorps that was after, but everything is a tad hazy.

The ZZ top show and Halen were righteous though.

Looking at the youtubes, it seems that the floor sections of arenas have seats. Is that normal in the US? Looks like a lot of people just stood up watching, not really doing a lot.

Over here the arena floor is usually standing, which means that when the music starts a couple of thousand people go absolutely mental. Good times :D

                        I like general admission floors.
The gen. admission disaster at The Who concert in Cincinnati in '79 changed things in North America for arena shows. Pity.
Why were they (fans) stampeding the doors. Moonie was dead and gone , what was the hurry....
